"People are comparing this to the Blackhawks celebrations. THIS. DOES NOT. COMPARE. TO THE BLACKHAWKS. IT CAN NEVER. BE COMPARED. TO THE BLACKHAWKS."
"How do you think it compares to the Bulls celebrations, Dan?"
"Look, there are (sigh), I mean...this is..."

Pat Hughes had to introduce himself to everyone. That was a little sad, as was the muted reaction to Ron Santo. Maybe the fanbase has changed a lot in the last eight years.

The muted reaction to Santo probably gave Bernstein a semi.

This happened. God, the arc of history really does bend toward this board.

Dan lamenting why Steve Stone wasn't mentioned.

And....THESE.FANS.DON'T.CARE.ABOUT.THE.PAST.

Even though numerous Cub layers and execs mentioned the past players.

They didn't mention Thom Brennaman or DeWayne Staats, either.

Addison Russell was ten years old when Steve Stone called the games. He. doesn't. care.

You're joking, right?

It's impossible to tell what's true in these threads any longer.

Post subject:  Re: 11/4: the eventual thread

we need yet another day of self-avowed sox fan dan bernstein telling us how to feel, think, celebrate, reflect, and ultimately enjoy this "monumental moment" for the city.

and they start off today's show pointing out how theo paused for a second after talking about an 83 year old cubs fan lady, UNDOUBTEDLY FOR THE TANNEHILL/B&B "83" DROP, which is about as close as bernstein can get to getting a shoutout from onw of the ownership/management groups he's bigtime ALS for so you knew that just made his life (outside of theo maybe namedropping his charity)

so yeah, the b&b non-reference reference = as close as dan will ever get to getting props from "the powers that be" --- victory starbucks for everyone!

To be fair, geeking out over 83 was more Leery than Senor.

How is it that Silverman has pretty much the same show content and says the same thing yet doesn't sound like an prick?

I figured they'd be all butthurt about them singing WGN at the biggest Cub event of all time.

This is everything annoyingly ridiculous about Dan wrapped up in a nice Blue Apron package.
