Even though Dan previously assured us he was in charge. Glorious backtracking by Bernsie today. He seems mystified that the Bears are right back in the Trestman era. He will also "be making some calls" to find out what is going on. |

One last big payout when he gets whacked early. One of my former employers had that happen a few years after I had left. Executive director retired, and they hired somebody with industry experience to a 5-year contract. After about 14 months, the guy completely started mailing it in, and then he decided that he was going to telework from his home on the Maryland shore most of the time. They ended up having to figure out how to buy him out, but it took them easily another 5 years after he left to get back on track. Fox seems to be in the same boat. |

Spiegs really gave it to Dan in transition. Who decided to bring Fox in? Dan's answer was Accordi. Then Spiegs asked who brought in Accordi. Dan had no answer for this. Really made Dan look quite foolish. |

Then Spiegs asks who the hell forced him the? Dan has nothing. Dan is getting lazy and sloppy as HE mails it in. |

Dan also said he was okay with Pace's drafting...it's been okay. His two number ones don't see the field / |

Really made Dan look quite foolish. Yeah, Dan walked right into that one, and once he realized it he tried to change the course of the discussion immediately, even stammering out "itwastheguyswhohavenoinstitutionalknowledge" (meaning Ted Phillips and George McCaskey). It also wasn't Ernie Accorsi that forced Fox on Pace, it was Phillips and McCaskey, and Bernstein knows it, he just knows that will make him look the fool on "Ted Phillips doesn't even WANT to make football decisions". Good on Spiegel. |

A monster my ass.....White is a bust I wouldn't go so far as to say monster but he's creeping into the conversation for D ROY Whitehair looks incredibly sophisticated for a guy who switched positions Howard will probably be a 1,000 yard rusher after not starting This draft is quickly shaping up to be a bedrock for the future. |

Conor Shaw broke his leg. They couldn't fill every need with this draft. I am happy to start by giving Fangio the pieces he feels he needs. |

2015 Pace one good starter, Amos, and one outstanding starter, Goldman. Langford is a useful change of pace back too. Doesn't look for White or Grasu. Tayo was cut. 2016 looks like a coup. Only picks that look bad are Deon Bush and Bullard, and yea Pace deserves shit for taking Bush before Prescott but considering he's killed it with the other picks is enough to let him keep his job. |

He has done a good job at drafting. Didn't like the WR last year, but that is fine. I think he has the right mentality of getting rid of the aging vets. I would expect 1 more solid draft, and Fox to exit stage left. |

I would add that Bullard isn't a complete bust, either, yet. He has shown flashes. He is in the rotation, but doesn't get a ton of snaps (Hicks has played really well). |

Bernsie going in right now. He made a call about the CSN appearance. Sweaty Teddy only went on grudgingly as they couldn't get anyone else. He did not WANT to answer football questions. Now it is Ryan Pace that has to be the face of the organization, fire Fox and take accountability. Also, Pace is supposed to be like Theo. |

Keep in mind that this was after Drinky went in on Dan now too, reciting the first round picks under the Phillips presidency. Obviously Dan immediately goes to the "Well it's not Ted's call" and wants to talk about how he wants Phillips to go to Pace and give him firing power (because with Ted not involved in football already that would clearly be a big change ). Oh and now he wants the Bears to make Harbaugh an offer he can't refuse because that's what big boy football teams do. Dan "Scorehead" Bernstein. |
