Or at least that's what he has to tell people.

Anyway, here is the hit by Wilber Marshall that Dan and Barry were talking about. You won't see anything more violent in NFL history. For all you kids out there, this was not a penalty in 1985

I would have sworn that hit was laid upon Eric Hipple.

I think they already knocked Hipple out of the game. Or maybe that was Dallas where they knocked out two.

I know it is a different sport, but that is what Grayson Allen needs.

Wilbur was a beast. To me, he was better than Singletary, but didn't talk a lot so wasn't fodder for the TV guys.

No. They said Joe Ferguson. The above is, indeed, Joe Ferguson.

Maybe there was another hit by Wilber on Hipple that you're thinking of.

Wilbur was awesome.

Did Barry do any of his terrible impersonations? Talk about his rec hockey league days? At this point, it beats Dan's bad dad stories about Jason Bernsie.

Mitch is probably waiting for this week's ratings to see how much he needs to offer a new co host.

Am I way off base in thinking they are delaying to find a way to convince Big Red not to sue them? Beardown can have all the fun he wants, but if you think this decision wasn't made LONG ago you are naive. No reason to at least announce things.

Did they just play a Beat A Dead Fish drop?

Who said that?

By Big Red do you mean Zach Zaidman? Also, I think Bernsie is at his best when solo. Brings the show back to where it was 5 years ago.

They need to bring back Maya Gavin so she can lecture teens on silly prank calls.

I know the decision was made long ago. I've said that.

But Mitch posted the job opening so legally he has to do interviews and pretend that it's not decided.

I"ve got a new theory!!!!!

CFMB: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. You son of a bitch!!!!

Drinky is doing updates. Yeah, I know he's done updates before, but not for a long time on the B&B show. He did it for a while and then pretty much went back to being a producer.

Maybe Terry's show was drinky's last as a producer. Not that he's getting the full time hosting gig. But maybe from now on he'll be rotating as update boy and rotating as host with the new "Bernstein & Company" show.

Maybe him doing updates today is an indication of that happening.

I thought Todd Bell's hit on Joe Washington in the 84 playoffs was better than Wilbur's

I usually listen to the podcast (only way to skip out on the Larry Mayer reports, oh, I mean Zach Zaidman). Do they make fun of her for update mishaps like they've done with previous anchors? Only ask because Bernsie, and really the station as a whole, has become so sensitive.

Nope. She seems to be off limits.

I heard Abbattacola's 5:30 update and he predicted Clemson would win 60-23 in overtime. Did he think that was funny enough to do in more than one update?

That's the kind of "humor" that numb nuts thinks can land a hosting gig.

Listened to most of the show driving to Detroit. I'm not sure why

I have significant doubts that they haven't already had their choice made for quite some time.

Never mind that it'd be dumb as hell to not have already cemented that (save your anecdotes and jokes, I don't care), but your buddy Dan Bernstein wouldn't have an NDA if there wasn't already something that could be disclosed (that is, the next host and perhaps a change in show format).

It was a different score every update. And it was actually pretty funny.

Post subject:  Re: 1/9: Mitch is still thinking about the replacement

It's the typical drinky thing where predicting is too cool for him so he tries to make a funny by coming up with stupid scores for each update. It's bad. As usual, drinky thinks it's hilarious. It's a shame that nobody ever tells drinky that he simply isn't funny.

I take that back, Bernstein pretty much tells him with his reaction to drinky's jokes, but drinky doesn't care what Bernstein thinks. Goff would have to be the guy to tell him. But Goff wouldn't do that. Drinky would have to be the guy to tell Goff to stop laughing at everything. And he wouldn't do that either. These guys just stroke each other.

Dan did mention an interesting story about taking Jason to Old Navy to purchase pants.
