He's doing updates for B&G. Anybody have any favorite memories of Ranger's SCORE tenure? Didn't think so. Nevertheless, this date will no longer be remembered for the Bears victory in Super Bowl XX. It will now be remembered as the last day Chicago got to hear Ranger. |

A caller criticized Paxson and Bernstein tried to be slick by suggesting the drafting fell off specifically when Forman became GM. No, the drafting fell off when Matt Lloyd left; giving Paxson equal credit for his success is asinine since it was the same Paxson who bet big on Tyrus Thomas before Lloyd arrived and since the Butler pick was made after Forman became GM but while Lloyd was still around. He also suggested that Paxson's sole basketball decision if Forman goes will be naming his replacement. This is just reminiscent of his desperate insistence that Ted Phillips had nothing to do with football decisions on the Bears. I thought we were told last year that Paxson would be taking a more active role this offseason? Thank goodness he came forward; otherwise the Bulls might not have landed Rondo! |

Was Chirs Rongey better than Chris Rongey at least? |

ZephMarshack wrote: it was the same Paxson who bet big on Tyrus Thomas don't forget that skiles was the coach at the time, and there's a story where in the pre-draft workout/meetings skiles sat down with lamarcus aldridge and just stared at him without saying a word. lamarcus was visibly uncomfortable like "wtf?" and skiles walked away from that telling everyone "don't draft that [i'm assuming the p-word goes here?]" and thus, the bumslayer era in chicago was underway! |
