Ridiculous, but I'm guessing it's just them trolling the hockey folks and needing content for a February show.

Dan also openly pondered if Bryant/rizzo one World Series
Is equal to or greater than the Kane/toews 3 Stanley cups

Which makes no sense

Of course it is greater. Nobody cares about hockey.

Greater in context of the better duo?

I think 3 championships is better than 1

They'll never miss a chance to shit on the Blackhawks. The White Sox' bad ratings took money out of Senor's paycheck and he doesn't hit them this hard or this often.

Did Bernstein address who has the worst alcohol issue between Bryant and Kaner?

The problem with them attempting these types of debates is they both freely admit to knowing next to nothing about hockey. Why would anyone take their opinion on this seriously?

I will say it's closer than "3 > 1" would indicate but it's still not more. Toews and Kane might have a fourth one in them.

Given the way salary cap leagues are setup I think multiple titles in the NHL are far more impressive than multiple titles in MLB let alone one.

By August Dan will have Bryant/Rizzo over Jordan/Pippen.

pretty much this. You can assemble an all-star team in baseball whereas in hockey you get one run at it and then have to dump half of your team to become cap compliant and try to do it with another group. The days of the 50s-70s Habs, 80s Islanders, and 80s Oilers are long gone.

I was listening on the way home from work. Goff was fine. It was Dan doing all the trolling.

Dan's Duncan Keith impression had me laughing my ass off though. He's still funny when he wants to be.

It is really impressive the streak the Hawks and Kings put together.

The Kings' run was just 1st-1st-Cup-3rd-Cup-out-1st. They had three great years. Doesn't compare to the Hawks' run.

I meant the two teams together ruling the NHL from the west.

Those two yahoos may not be wrong on this one. Kris Bryant was arguably the best 3B in all of baseball last year (leading in fWAR, second in both wRC+ and wOBA), and Rizzo was in the top 4 of both wRC+ and wOBA, second in the league in fWAR at his position.

I'm not aware of a counting or rate-based hockey stat equivalent to WAR, but it seems reasonable to argue, prima facie, that Bryant and Rizzo dominated their respective sport last year much more than Kane and Toews did in their last trophy-hoisting campaign.

This, of course, ignores the fact that the best guys at any given position in baseball are routinely available for 100% of their position's chances in a given game, and hockey players are, at the very best, on the ice for 40-50% of the game as a whole.

But a baseball player is only at bat 4 or 5 times a game. Pretty much the same as the 8th hitter on the team, which is the worst player. Yeah, they're on defense all the time, but how much does a tough play come up that matters? Not that much.

The problem is quantifying hockey play similar to baseball play, or vice versa. Is an at-bat similar to a shift, a single chance with the puck, or something else? Is robbing a home run similar to blocking a shot, or stick-checking a guy on a breakaway chance?

They are completely different modes of sport, with each position only able to impact the game so much. At the end of the day, it's one of those sports questions that doesn't have a real answer, numbers or not, trophies or not.

It was a dumb thing to say. If they stopped playing today Toews and Kane are Hall of Famers. Bryant and Rizzo are guys who had a couple good years. It would be like if Goff and bernstein were on the radio in 1964 and they started saying Pete Ward/Gary Peters were better than Hull/Mikita.
