and then I get told by a guy who has stated he is a Sox fan that the Latino community is underserved by the Sox...this despite Hispanic Heritage Night, a soccer jersey night directed at the community, employment of the only Latino field manager in the game (with two of the last three field managers being Latino), a Spanish language broadcast of all games, leadership in diversity hiring, etc.

oh, and I was also told that most Latino communities in this city are on the North side

It's really sad that Jason chose this as his radio personality. He had the opportunity to be a populist pushing the Score back to its roots (roots that he grew up on and loved, mind you).

Instead, in my limited listening, I get told they hate days when they have to take calls, that entire area codes of listeners are ignorant, that they are glad oldheads will die out, etc. This shit was coming for a while when Dan was made the FOTS but it has really turned into a full on frontal assault of the listeners.

B and G move my soul...right over to other stations.

It's sports, man. Jiggetts was a Harvard educated lawyer who never shied away from racial issues but somehow his on air personality was never like this.

I continue to sample both shows on my drive home at 4:30-5:00. Silvy and Waddle are so gimmicky, which makes it a tough listen. But I can't find a reason to keep 670 on either. My office is exclusively AM 1000 now. I just tune out the bad parts.

What is really obnoxious is when Holmes, Goff, and Bernstein start mumbling under their breath while a caller they do not agree with is talking. That is so fucking bitchy.

I think Hood does it, too, which I suppose doesn't surprise me.

After hearing the chatter about the segment, I listened. Just more pontificating from Goff. I am so tired of his lecturing and talking down to his listeners and even though I agree with a lot of what he's saying, that's not what I really want to listen to. Spiegel and Rozner has been a great listen this week. Spiegel and Holmes has been an easy listen to rock with also.

At least he's not saying "there it is" as much.

At least that segment helped me remember why I don't listen to that show anymore.

As a person who was laughed at by East Coast people for a Chicago accent, I do not consider his pronounciation to reflect on his intelligence. However, he certainly mocked North for being a dese, dem and does guy. Also, when your schtick is to deride people for not understanding, I'd think you'd want to perfect the pronounciation of that one word.
