Connor’s first crack at Thesus went like this:

Connor: So, (sigh), the conversation around that piece has kinda spurred a tangential one: ya know what is a manager worth, ya know, what kinda numbers does he provide, how much wins is a guy worth..and I started thinking...I, I wonder if you and Jed even look at it that way. I’m sure you’ve got some kind of math on what in game decisions can be (sigh)..can bring..back to you in terms of value, but I wonder if you guys even...look...at that sort of the...the..tangible value that way or if it’s so much more than that when you hire an on-off field type guy.

Theo: uh..what’s the question?

Connor: laughs...Whether or not you guys have an actual math (Theo audibly laughs) that matters to you when it comes to decisions during a game, the actual strategic evaluation during a game (by now clearly realizes how stupid he sounds).

Theo: no. We don’t spend a lot of time quantifying in game decision making....

WE GET IT YOU ARE UPSET THAT YOU LOST EITHER A SPORTS RADIO GIG OR A SPORTS RADIO OPPORTUNITY

Tone it down. This angsty account you've had to make in order to take shots at those that you feel don't deserve their positions is LAAAAAAAMEEEEE.

Does the board really need anything?

I guess I’ll just beat off with everyone else in the Julie thread.

For such a smart person he did sound like a complete idiot. Way too much stammering. It usually isn't good when the person you are interviewing laughs at you.

Probably not Kamps...but definitely Rex Ryan and ManBearPig right here. I'm sure he weeps when he doesn't hear her piercing wail on the air every night.

Julie isn't ugly, she is just overweight.

She probably doesn't think I'm a hottie with a mean sack, though.

I think the first issue with Connor is, he just is not interesting. I find dead squirrels more interesting than listening to McDouche. The second problem is, he talks too much. Just shut the fuck up and ask a question. This is not rocket science to ask some of these guys questions.

How much are they paying this guy?

Table scraps and probably whatever they were going to pay Juice's Lecture Notes had he gotten the job.

This is often the result when someone who thinks they're intelligent tries to communicate with someone who actually is intelligent.

If Theo were being honest he would say the hard pursuit of Maddon five years ago was not so much for his production but for the message that it sent.

Joe has become irritable ever since the Indians series because he knows the esteem in which he is held is largely based on smoke and mirrors. His grasp of metrics, while revolutionary in his Angels days, has been so far outpaced by entry level executives these days that he is reduced to being nothing more than a guy who reads and implements the daily newsletter generated from above. The creative moves he does make fail with regularity.

If you want evidence of his insecurity that things have passed him by look no further than the ridiculous purple hair dye job. Did that seem like the act of a hippie or someone secure in his position. No that was an action taken from the scene of comedy about an aging middle manager.

A chump like Conor sees baseball execs now being hired from non traditional spots and thinks that this is his shot to get a job interview with Epstein.
