Well Bernsie is calling them tools that Pagano should deploy from his high viewing booth.

He was making the argument that coaches should sit on top of a hill and deploy players as tools. That's when he made his statement about not viewing the players as human beings. I understand the point but that is something that he and Julie would question someone about.

When you're as socially conscious as Dan makes himself out to be, you can't view athletes as subhuman.

Dan is just as hypocritical as the rest of the Twitter Woke Crowd are. And his head is so far up his own ass to even realize it.

Imagine if somebody said this about the WNBA. Julie and her lot would be all over it like white on rice. Racist and sexist!

Dan has always necessary disconnected himself from NFL players because of the concussion thing and enjoying people killing themselves for his amusement,

I agree. And I don't believe his statement had any racial connotations from his point of view. But he would never give someone else that same benefit of the doubt. So fuck him.

Also, I was watching an American Experience on coal mining last night. And the statement was made that mine operators viewed the miners as less than human. I don't doubt that some- perhaps many- owners of pro sports franchises feel the same way about their players. But I would argue that the impact of that isn't the same when the pay scale is such that a shrewd and prudent employee has the ability to put himself in a better financial position than the guy signing his checks.

Breed them with DiCaro. You’ll have 450 pound slobs to protect the QB. All you have to do is feed them peanut butter, popcorn, and snickers bars. They’ll die of diabetes before they collect a single player pension.

Rinse repeat.

That was an interesting episode. People literally wanted to shorten their lives in hellish conditions to make decent wages.

That is what football players are doing too. Of course the reward isn't a subsistence living. Who was the dope who argued that having his brains scrambled was worth it?

I agree. I think his overall point was probably something along the lines of that you can't worry about their feelings and mental stability as you are calling a play. The players have jobs to do at that point.

Which isn't a bad point, if thats indeed what he was going for. But goodness, what a stupid, terrible phrase to use. You are 100% dead on when you say he would give zero benefit of the doubt to anybody else. So yes indeed, FUCK him.

Jorr and Frank got it. You can't have a player in your face swaying a call that you otherwise know is the wrong one.

It would be cool if Bernstein announced he was done talking football after everything he's said about the damage the game causes, but he can't and probably doesn't want to anyway.

So Bernstein knows the game well enough but has his own 'moral' hangups clearly. Meanwhile McDoink has no credibility talking football, right? This may be a show problem outside of WCUB season.

Though this isn't their first football season, and last year proved you can have anybody host if the team is exciting.

If you make millions for your family it certainly is worth it. What is crazy is how many former NFL players let their kids play it.
