And the statement was made that mine operators viewed the miners as less than human. I don't doubt that some- perhaps many- owners of pro sports franchises feel the same way about their players. But I would argue that the impact of that isn't the same when the pay scale is such that a shrewd and prudent employee has the ability to put himself in a better financial position than the guy signing his checks. |
