Why as always does this have to go into day two, three or more? Besides imaginary texters is anyone happy the Sox have Clevinger anyway. Does anyone really want to endorse his behavior? Obvioously, there has to be a process to unload him just like Bauer.

Anything, more is grandstanding by the hosts and the callers moaning about the team and feeling shame as a fan are dumb.

I listened for 5 minutes and it's so pathetic. The sox screwed up and signed an a******, it's not a big deal just move on. Bernstein and the callers are acting like this is some great scandal that's going to tar the organization for 20 years. Give me a break

Yesterday was bad radio. We all know the allegations are horrible. But there has to be process for MLB and the White Sox. What if it ends up like the Duke LaCrosse team? We cannot just let allegations turn into fans putting pitchforks to athletes. Even though MLB does not need to follow the court system standards of guilt, they still need to give all sides a fair shake. And oh there is this little thing called collective bargaining.

It's a repeated pattern though, the Sox signing bad character/bad behavior individuals. (that really aren't good at baseball to boot)

They should apologize for not having the balls to go get the likes of deGrom, Verlander, etc...

And that's fine to be upset at the Sox signing bad guys. But specific to Clevinger, there still has to be process to determine his guilt, and then there is the economic side of it. The bad press is there no matter what, so they might as well go through the process.

This isn't exclusive to the Sox or MLB in general. If you can play you will end up on professional roster somewhere.

This one reminds me of when the Bears signed the DV guy from the Niners.

If you’re going after a questionable character guy, get a good one. Don’t waste that bullet on a do-nothing roster filler.

Its always funny to square their faux outrage stance with local teams signing " bad" guys and that those bad guys shouldnt be allowed to play anywhere with their even more phony sjw takes that we must give the wayward youth of Chicago second , third, eighth, more chances after theyre arrested for sticking a gun in your face relieving you of your car and valuables.

It's no better than the faux outrage of being asked to wear a mask while in a medical facility.

"Process" is for people not woke enough. The truly woke don't need process to reaffirm their correctness.

Bernstein tweeted a demand the other night that Clevenger had better be gone by the time Bernstein woke up the next morning. At the risk of eliciting a post from Vito on his favorite topic, it reminded me of Hyman Roth's ultimatum in GF2.

These guys are probably more upset that he didn't the vaccine than what he is accused of doing. Per Bernstein, this guy was already a sketchy dude (referring to him not getting the vaccine/shot) and alluding to the White Sox not signing him on that alone. Of course, in Bernstein's world, that should have also informed the Sox that they may be signing a child and wife abuser.

Agreed. Bernstein and Holmes either don't understand that or don't care. They go right to bad covid takes, accusations that the White Sox have a terrible organization, etc.

That particular show must love stories like this. Gives them a chance to show their wokeness, covid badge, etc. Not talk sports, but talk sports, and take on social news with their hot takes.

It's probably getting all this air time because nothing else is going on sports-wise.

Blackhawks suck
Bulls suck
Bears talk will be exciting post-Super Bowl but not now

So..."yeah let's artificially pump up the debacle that is the Clevinger situation, nothing else to talk about" seems to be the approach.

Lazy radio, Bernstein especially just starts doing this odd angry white liberal crap, he almost goes on auto pilot, it's sports talk radio at it's absolute worst, just a dude regurgitating tried old stereotypical talking points, conversation for dullards who cannot form original thoughts.

Larry Holmes is....well at this point he would rather do a show talking about comic books, but has not figured out how to monetize this, so does a mind numbingly boring talk show where he picks his spots to be enraged, and does a show that caters to a miniscule audience.

It's hard to bring the energy and interest required to do a daily local sports talk radio show, when you do not have that level of interest or energy it becomes almost instantly evident to the listener, especially those that have heard it done well and know what it should shound like.

I still wonder why you guys still listen. Is it just to complain about your politics? Seems pointless.

Yep. Guys like Claw and Vito seem to enjoy being perpetually offended.

Funny thing is that I’ve asked this question several times and yet no one ever answers. It seems masochistic.

I'm fine when Rahimi and Holmes get up on the soapbox from time to time. It's something about Bernstein though I just want to rip his fucking heart out. That feeling seems universal here.

Bernstein's White Sox vendetta bashing the last 2 years are all linked to Tony LaRussa's comments against the NFL anthem kneelers.
He must of been told to not bad mouth Joe Ricketts anymore because that ended abruptly mid controversy.
