What should happen:

Bernstein solo. Should be afternoons. But if it’s middays that’s fine too. He doesn’t need a partner. He can talk to the producers if he wants.

Grote and Spiegel. Best option of all the back ups.

Get rid of Larry

What will happen:

Bernstein joins Spiegel in the afternoons.

Mitch likes Larry, so he stays. Some of you think Leila but I don’t think she wants two full time jobs. She’s still trying for that husband. Needs some time off to get that done. I’m not really sure who you do. Really, nobody fits with him. But you can’t let him be solo. my guess would be grote. He’s a "go along to get along" type. When Larry says stupid woke stuff he’ll just be silent.

People looking for interviews with Mitch:

Herron an Ramirez will get token interviews with no shot

Goff: this is interesting. He will expect a call from Mitch. Too proud to call Mitch himself for an interview. Doesn’t think he should have to apply again. Mitch won’t call him. This will piss Goff off and in about 6 months we will hear Goff bitching and moaning about the lack of respect. On his podcast or maybe even as a guest host on the Score. Or just as a guest on Larry’s show. But he will go scorched earth over this.

What do you all think? How will this go down?

Glad to know you agree with me on Meatpants and Bernsie in the afternoon and Larry still in middays in some form.

The success of Danny Parkins is going to give Mitch a ton of personal capital to spend (though Audacy, of course, can't give him much actual capital). He can do almost anything he wants, I mean, hell, he discovered THE Danny Parkins, the guy who rose to fame by saying "whoever the quarterback of the very popular team, the Chicago Bears, is? Gotta tell ya: I like him!" This was bigger than Jerry Krause discovering Earl Monroe.

What I'm saying is we could wind up with Goff back.

Watch them go on the cheap and not even bother to hire a new guy. Spiegel will join Bernsie in the afternoon. Larry will go solo with Leila sometimes joining.

Mitch gets to brag about all of the money he saved as he cuts even more salary from everyone on their next contract. Bernstein watches Parkins live the dream Bernsie had for himself 25 years ago as he cries himself to sleep as he accepts the pay cut that comes with declining revenue as he has no other option and Mitch knows it..

I think this is right. Danny and Meatpants, and Larry sometimes solo with a rotation of Leila and Anthony Herron joining him a couple days a week.

Dan's in his 50's, right? With crippling anxiety? Guess you gotta give him his swan song after so many years of loyalty of taking demotions and haircuts to stay at the station with a return to afternoons as he heads out the door. Jason and Leery can light the midday shift on fire with wokeness.

I just don't see Goff coming back. Not even a call for an interview like I said. Mitch now considers him too dangerous. The tantrums over being fired that he's thrown as a guest on the SCORE have been epic. I think Goff burned that bridge like a dumb ass.

The thought that it would be "Larry & company" might be a good one. Mitch might do that. Leila whenever she wants to work. Then Larry can get other women to guest host. Straights and Lesbians.
Transgenders. Gay guys. One legged, obese hookers. He could do a "Minority month". A different minority each day of that month -Literally 20 different races for that month.

Every day Larry can prove how woke his is with his guest host. Larry would love that shit. It would be awesome.

Larry: Welcome to the show, today my guest host is Deloris. She's half Mexican and half black. And she has a HUGE penis. But she's a women. And she's really, really, really, really great.

Deloris: Hey mother fucker how are you!!!!! (Whips it out and wang whips Larry)

Larry: Oh my God. Deloris just wang whipped my face. Really, really, really hard. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Sooooooooooo great. Hope everybody saw that on youtube. I love you Deloris.

I can see them making Bernstein solo in his current time slot, but have Leila, despite her full time job, being a part time host with Bernstein 1-2x a week as she's currently able to do (despite her full time job).

Also, if they make Bernstein a solo show...make it the Dan Bernstein show with news/sports which is what he's doing anyways. Stop hiding it. That way, if you don't want to hear lunatic opinions on a sports show, you can at least know it's part of the show now.

Same with anything Holmes has.

Some of these hosts seem more interested in social justice/racial identify than sports talk. Just change the format of the station.

Mitch seems to like that creepy guy from the Milwaukee sports talk station. He would definitely help realize the seemingly unattainable goal of making the station even worse than it already is, so there's a good chance he's in the running.

Yeah. But there is a reason for that. Larry wants him as a guest. What’s Mitch gonna do in this new world? Tell his black employee that he can’t have his black friend on the show? Of corse not. Larry would deem it racist. Goff would go on his podcast and say it’s racist. Mitch knows that.

But it’s an entirely different thing to actually hire him back. Mitch won’t do that.

Grote has a very annoying speaking manner. Every few sentences he tries to emphasize a word and kind of drags out the way he pronounces it. I assume their is some linguistic term, which CH will know, for people that speak like that. But it drives me crazy.

He’s by far the most deserving of a shot. Took the demotion from the Cubs gig with grace, has done everything theyve asked of him. He certainly deserves a chance rather than giving the fucking retread piece of shit both human and ratings disaster and headache that Goff is

I'm not a big fan of him as a Bears reporter. I don't think he offers much but when he hosts, tries to bring humor vs some of the crazy thoughts that the mid-day show now bring regularly. If we knew we were getting a guy trying to be funny vs. the condescending, everyone is a 'xxxist'/'xxxot', etc...I think I'd take a shot that he could be better.

+1

IIRC he used to make fun of / impersonate Grobstein, but his speech pattern is similar to Grobstein's and just as annoying.

If Bernstein wanted to follow Greenberg to ESPN, wouldn't he have taken a job with CLTV to help make the leap. It's not like there weren't openings, and the lineup wasn't exactly stacked with top-tier talent. No offense to Rob "The Pedophile" Goldman intended.

I never remembered Bernsie ever pining for some big tv slot out east. Even for all his love of everything NYC. My feeling is because he came up while local radio was big money he felt he could stay close to home and do that. Things evolved.
