Just terrible. Both of them. Neither can keep up with Bernstein. Platitudes, no research, not from Chicago, terrible thoughts, bad metaphors and analogies.

Parkins is 3 times the host that Harris is. Parkins has his faults, but he was way better than Harris. That is just stupid

Harris reminds me of Gabe Ramirez in that he often sounds like he's nervous and babbles while talking. I thought he would have settled down and sounded more comfortable after he had been part of the show for a while.

Not for nothin but the 670 reddit page is full on CFMB now, dunking specifically on harris being worthless and ruining dan's fastball, and the larry vacation(good thing as per reddit). In the good words of Walter Cronkite, if you've lost the reddit normies, you've lost the war.

I didn't even know there was a 670 reddit page.

CFMB was a huge Score supporter back in the day. There was always 1-2 disfavored hosts but it was generally positive.

Listening to the pod, hour 1 today. Marshall can’t defend any position. I kinda/sorta got where he was going with the Ben Johnson maybe being a little too media availability. I didn’t agree at all, but got where he was going. He just can’t defend any position logically.

Bernsy is straining not to call him out. I’d expect someone new by fall with Dan. Marshall is a tv guy that can talk in bits, or is qualified to do some sort of college basketball talk in some mid-city where no one cares about quality.

If Marshall leaves, it'll be because he got a job doing the sports for the ABC affiliate in Tulsa. No reason to believe anyone's unhappy with the numbers this lineup has been doing, and Senor doesn't have the sway or the desire to demand yet another co-host. He's probably here to stay.

Most of us have listened to Dan for years and years, you KNOW he wants to skewer this subpar group of cohosts to the wall. But he doesn't, because he knows there isn't any point to it in his career. He knows this is all over. He is a defeated man. The plan is to coast for as long as it takes without ruffling any feathers, which makes for about as entertaining radio as we get. He puts up with cohosts who cannot speak professionally. Callers who would utter "uhh" and use "like" constantly used to be berated. Now it's the norm for several reporters. Both of his cohosts are discarded TV people without original thoughts or interesting personalities. He used to have Drinky and Tanny, now he has what are essentially permanent interns. I never thought I would be sympathetic towards him but he stands alone as an actual radio professional, and he is watching his craft be eroded by no name no talent boring ass people. I feel bad for him, but fuck him for going along with it and not doing something else.

Am I dumb for looking at Nielsen ratings and comparing them to online responses and wondering why the two don't add up? Hate listening would have to be the entire reach at this point.

This is something I don't think I've seen brought up before. His show used to have A Cast well into, like, the early days back in middays. Not only do we not hear from callers anymore, we don't really hear from producers or update guys, either. The update desk is gone, of course, and if we do hear from the newer batch of producers, I can't recall it. And I think that exacerbates how Marshall can be a dead fish when Dan is trying to do a bit: he doesn't have anyone else to bounce off of anymore.

Leila alluded to the ratings being very good for the station. The people posting here and on Reddit are a tiny portion of the audience.
