Today around 4 pm,they were talking Bulls basketball. Bernstein says: "You know who I tell my son to watch?". I never found out, because I PTFB. How much can a 6 year old child enter ANY sports conversation? |

Well, jimmy, I'm guessing your kids can't identify when an NBA team is running "Blue" or "Ice". Jason Bernstein knows! |

Did you hear what crazy schemes he's getting himself into now? He is also dominating quantum mechanics and perfecting the unifying theory, in his spare time in between reading Shakespeare and recreating the Sistine Chapel on his bedroom ceiling! He also run a ton of stuff. |

Careful,BF pruned the last attack on Bernsteins kid. This time,I'm talking about Bernstein not his son. Be funny if the kid looked like Mat Abattacola. |

I don't think anyone is attacking bernstein's kid in this thread. Everyone thinks their own kids are exceptional. But how could that be? Everyone isn't exceptional. Very few people are. Hence the word "exceptional". So even if you're certain your kid is exceptional, it's probably best to keep it to yourself. |

Agree 100%,(but my son gives 110% in sports and in life, gang!) |

In between his Latin lessons and his upcoming string theory dissertation, I have to say that 2 yr old baby Rogue takes some exceptional craps in his diaper. Does that count? |

Oh that's too bad. My son was potty trained at 3 months. In fact, at age 1 year 2 months, he invented a more efficient potty. Don't worry though, I'm sure little rogue will catch on eventually. |

because i've only listened for the past few years, what was bernstein like before he had a kid? i have a feeling he complained about "new parents" and whatnot...he strikes me as that type. |

There was a family of six kids that I grew up with. They're all pretty smart. The brother that is the same age as I am, is hands down the smartest guy I've ever met. I'm still really good friends with the youngest sister. When her son was a year old he could match a shape into the proper hole on a board. My friend was all excited about it and called her mom to tell her how brilliant the kid was. Her mom said, "Your brother Tommy did that when he was six months." |

How much can a 6 year old child enter ANY sports conversation? The son conversations got annoying around the time the Blackhawks were making their Stanley Cup run. It was always something like, "I am going to have to be between the pipes tonight". I commented on it back then about how annoying it was. Glad I don't tune in anymore. |

I am amazed at some of the things my kids do and say, especially my first child. I realize that people care about my child's exploits about as much as I care about their's...which is, not at all. Any parent with an ounce of self realization reaches this conclusion quickly and keeps things to himself. Grandparents can get away with this shit. Parents who keep it up are about as popular as Jerry Sandusky at a an 8 year old birthday party. |

Bernsie doesn't brag about his kid. mostly he talks about the humorous aspects of being a dad. |

This stuff ranks right up there with complaining about radio show hosts taking their vacation or using the perks given to them by their employers as being some of the dumbest things around here. Bernsie's a dad, so he mentions his kid occasionally. You guys make it sound like he plans entire shows dedicated to bragging about his kid. |

Is there any other reason I would know his kid is studying Hewbrew and Chinese? The aspects of his being a dad obviously aren't as humerous for the listeners as they are for him |

My problem with the son discussion was not so much the frequency but rather the messenger. I never minded Mac talking about his sons because it was coming from a guy I could warm up to. He seems like a nice guy who gives others a fair shake. Coming from Bernsie, who treats callers like crap and generally is an SoB, I never cared for his son talk. You'd have this heart warming story about him spending time with his kid, and then he go back to making fun of callers and egging on the audience. It just didn't fit for me. |

The only time it really made me mad was one time when he said something about how his son already wants to go to Northwestern but they won't be able to swing it unless he gets all A's and ensuing scholarships. As if the scion of a wealthy family of Harvard/Cornell/Duke graduates is doomed to a directional state school with one false step. F riiiiight off. |

It's funny how some posters make it seem like Berns treats callers in some inhumane way -- but when Dan tries to show his personable side it's PTFB time. |

I find Bernsie to be pretty self-depricating. He might have the thickest skin at the Score -- certainly more than Spiegs, Mac, Terry, Laurence and Mully. Maybe that's not saying much? |
