As soon as Chris Rongey's "Xfinity Feedback Postgame" wraps for White Sox/Indians in front of a lot of empty seats at (Not So) Progressive Field this afternoon in Cleveland along the Chicago White Sox Radio Network, it'll be a late start for Terry & Dan B. at the SCORE Studios downtown. Whether or not the guys talk about today's getaway game in Cleveland, let alone Brewers/Cubs at Wrigley remains to be heard. After all, it is radio, you know... Anyway, the guys likely will discuss last night's big Bulls' win over the Knicks, minus Derrick Martell Rose, and whether or not he & his ankle play tomorrow on the Bulls' favorite national cable channel TNT vs. the Heat...AT REGULAR TIME! That would be 7p, not 8:30p... The firing of Arkansas head football coach Bobby Petrino last night as a result of that scandal might also be part of the discussion. I think Bernsy had fun with that without Boers when he flew solo after White Sox/Rangers last Friday. Matt Abbatacola is live at Brewers/Cubs over at Wrigley today, while Jason Goff guest hosts the nighttime SCORE come 6p. Might Jason be doing Laurence's "HATER WEDNESDAY"? We'll find out soon enough... I know Derrick just signed a new long term deal with adidas, but given the NBA schedule because of the lockout, he should pull out. Ditto for Luol Deng, I believe with Britain. Given all the aches, pains, bumps & bruises Derrick Rose has endured this year, I agree with Bernstein on this. Even though he's now got a long term deal with adidas, Rose should tell Coach K "thanks, but no thanks" and pull out of the upcoming Summer Olympics in London. There's no point in participating, and it has nothing to do with the U.S. red, white & blue. |

there are reasons why Rose maybe shouldn't play in the Olympics, but rest is not one of them. Getting Healthy probably won't be one either. He hasn't played that much this year. He will probably be pretty damned healthy before they actually have to play in the Olympics. If he is NOT playing in the Olympics, what the hell do you think he is going to do?...find himself in that gym in California trying to improve his game. I really don't think this is an issue this year. If he doesn't get a serious injury through the playoffs this is a moot point. |

Well said beni. Rose is well known as a guy who always wants to play. Bernstein has talked about how he has keys to the facility and him and his friends go and play there all the time. If he was sitting at home all summer then he could be protecting his body. He wouldn't though. Wouldn't it be helpful to improve yourself practicing against the best players in the game and then playing against quality teams? If Rose is truly injured, then he can't play because he needs surgery, but just to skip the Olympics because you want to prolong your NBA career by a month or two is stupid and unrealistic. |
