It's back to the SCORE Studios downtown today for the "Boers & Bernstein Show", and needless to say, a lot to talk about following transition with Mac & Spiegs around 1:15p or so this afternoon. The Bulls got a lot more than they bargained for from the Pistons as Derrick Rose scored the most important 3 of his 24 & 9 assists with :06.4 left to force OT before the Bulls finished off Detroit 100-94 for a hard-fought OT win, their 15th in a row over the guys from Auburn Hills, MI. You can bet there will be talk about the game last night, and maybe a preview of another winnable game tonight vs. another NBA punching bag in the Wizards at United Center. Chicago baseball saw the Cubs lose two out of three to the World Champion Cardinals in St. Louis and as "B & B" might say, Paul Maholm is "bad at baseball" after another bad start yesterday. The White Sox may have taken 2 out of 3 over the Tigers, but the big, bad Orioles pay "The Cell" a visit for a four-game series before the Sox head to Seattle over the weekend. Since Buck Showalter took over in the O's dugout, they've been an absolute pest to the Southsiders the last couple of years. Will that continue on The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network in front of possibly a lot of empty seats tonight? We'll find out soon enough. The Blackhawks may have evened their first round NHL Stanley Cup Playoff series with the Coyotes at 1-1 after a dramatic OT win in Game 2, but Andrew Shaw could be facing a suspension with the scene shifting to the U.C. tomorrow for Game 3 following an incident with Phoenix goaltender Mike Smith that resulted in a game misconduct for #67 in the Blackhawk sweater Saturday night? The guys might also discuss who has momentum, if any, as the scene shifts to the Madhouse. All that, and perhaps highlights from Friday night's "SCORE 20th Anniversary Celebration" that could be told on the air between 1:15p-ish & 6p. In the meantime, Bernsy has the following words of caution for White Sox fans following a good start in the first week of this long MLB season: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2012/04/15/ ... hot-start/ |

The White Sox winning the Central would not be evidence of them "overachieving", but rather, evidence danny bernstein doesnt know what the fuck hes talking about. |

Eh...it might be overachieving. Or the Tigers underachieving. Either way, the Tigers have more talent and the best chance to win, dont you agree? Note: Not disagreeing on Bernstein |

Note: Not disagreeing on Bernstein I'm not sure the Tigers do have more talent. They have a stronger lineup for certain. I think their pitching beyond Verlander is suspect and the only shaky year Verlander has ever had in his career came after they rode him hard chasing a championship the same way they did last season. The '06 White Sox were the most talented Sox team in my lifetime, but they didn't win a division. I suspect a lot of that had to do with the pitchers being ridden so hard the previous season. I don't see how a team bernstein expected to win last year that hasn't changed drastically could be considered an overachieving team if they won a year later. Terry loves "beaten favorites" when they wear Cub uniforms but he dismisses beaten favorites from the South side. Did the Sox underachieve last season when danny expected them to win or was he just wrong about them? Either way, he's wrong at least half the time. |

I can see a straw man that is 10,000 axe handles tall being constructed as.we.speak. BernSTINE will say that the Sox aren't good and that he is sick and tired of hearing every single White Sox fan in the world talking about the team like they are destined for the World Series. -"All White Sox Fans", -"everyone on Twitter", -"Everyone texting and emailing and calling" And of course BernSTINE riding in on his mighty steed to educate us poor, blue collar slobs on the intricacies of baseball and why we should not be happy when the White Sox win. Or something like that. |

If nothing on the Sox changed, but Adam Dunn went from from a terrible player to an average player (-2.7 WAR to +2 WAR), that's 4.7 win swing over last year. Alex Rios going from terrible to AAAA quality (-1.5 WAR to 0 WAR) would get you 1.5 wins. That would put them at 85 wins, up from 79. But they also lost their most valuable pitcher from last year. And I don't think 85 wins would get that division. |

Here's the Monday game plan with "B & B" this afternoon: *2:40p: ProBasketballTalk.com/NBC Sports.com's Kurt Helin *3:30p: "The Second Half" Producers: Jason Goff & Chris Tannehill "Scoreboard Updates": Matt Rodewald It's been awhile since Terry's "two favorite words in show business", Laurence Holmes, has hosted evenings. He'll do so tonight...for 35 minutes starting at 6p in advance of Orioles/White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field. Chris Rongey's pregame from "The Cell" happens at 6:35p prior to first pitch at 7:10p on the Chicago White Sox Radio Network. Les Grobstein's "SCORE Overnight", also featuring Adam Harris, follows Ranger's postgame until 5a tomorrow morning. An exact time for Grobber...Don't know. |

Terry Boers proving once again that he is bad at being a sports radio host. Stuttering, stammering, blubbering and saying absolutely nothing. |

Is anyone listening to what Tigers' manager Jim Leyland told reporters after Detroit's 5-2 win over the White Sox? |

Sox would have to send him to the minors before 6/4, otherwise he becomes a three year guy. I believe that means they would have to place him on waivers, if he's not sent down before 6/4 |

June 4th is when Beckham will have 3 years in the League and would have to clear waivers to be sent to the minors. |

Hmmmm, which team takes a chance? You have to think that he has been exposed or at the very least been mentally fucked up. I guess it isn't that big a deal to take a flyer on him, at this point I think he may be another Jeremy Reed or whatnot. |

I guess the "whatever happens doesn't matter or was luck or the other team didn't care or it won't last or you are an idiot" policy of Bernstein doesn't just go for basketball. I'm not helping pay Bernsteins salary so he can tell me that doing well for a week and a half doesn't mean that the team is going to dominate all year. |

I thought when the White Sox called him when they did, they were hoping that Gordon Beckham would be similar in nature to what the Rays did with Evan Longoria. That hasn't materialized, and even I'm starting to wonder if Beckham & "flop" go hand in hand. |

And now Goff screens in callers so BernSTINE can yell at them to explain exactly what a "Live Bat" means. Semantics about Hawk talking about a "Live Bat"? BernSTINE wrote: EXPLAIN WHAT.LIVELY.BAT.MEANS....YOU STILL HAVEN'T DONE IT!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I guess there wasn't a pre-show meeting today? The Decline continues unabated. Bad. |

This is apropos of nothing, but Dan tweeted this last night: @dan_bernstein wrote: Too bad this much #Bulls energy needed to be expended in this game. And yes, I'll find the cloud around the silver lining. That's my job. It's becoming harder to pretend that this is all an act. I think Dan honestly thinks he's performing a vital public service by telling people not to get excited about their basketball team. |

If the unlikely scenario occurred where Beckham hit waivers, I'd say at least ten teams put in a claim. |
