I happened to turn on radio just AFTER the game ended. Such my luck. Anyway, Ranger had a pretty long interview with Humber after the perfecto. I never heard the guy talk before, but he was just outstanding. Humble, gracious, thankful.

Anyway, about 2/3 of the way through Rongey asks him about what he has done to put himself in this situation. THEN, Humber mentioned his strong faith in god and discussed it a bit (he never even mentioned Jesus, I assume he is a Christian, I don't know). Anyway, he spoke beautifully on putting things into perspective in life as it relates to god.

Point is: you can talk about religious faith and do it with class and not rub anyone the wrong way.

Very well-summarized Hatchet.

More athletes should take the humble approach instead of beating others over the head with it, and this is coming from a guy who's in church every week. Not everybody wants to be preached to, and guys like Tebow are doing more to detract from the message than to actually bring people to it.

I don't know if you've been to ChrisRongey.com. That might be where you can find Ranger's impromptu interview with Philip Humber, shortly after he threw a perfect game at Safeco Field in Seattle.

I don't want anyone to know if I've been to ChrisRongey.com.

CH, that's the Web site Ranger's been referring on his postgame show, and will do so again tonight when the White Sox & A's wrap up on the White Sox Radio Network. It's another page from the same geniuses behind MullyandHanley.com, McNeilandSpiegel.com & BoersandBernstein.com.

Jaime Moyer was one of the best pitchers in baseball when he was with the Mariners.

Totally agree.
