We can now add "celebrating a victory is for losers" to Dan's Laws of Cubdom (cf. "the Cubs should move to the suburbs for some reason," "'Go Cubs Go' keeps you from winning a championship somehow," et al).

sports is very serious business.

Every single team celebrates every single walk off win in the exact same way every single time. It's what baseball teams do.
I think most teams would celebrate two consecutive walk off wins in the same way too.

I've never seen a baseball team walk out and give each other a silent and firm handshake after a walk off win. Ever.

There was a thread on this very board started by Darkside, basically saying the same thing.

It's kind of weird that after a regular win, the team goes out on the field and shakes hands with itself. Couldn't they do that in the dugout or the locker room?

The field would be where you'd shake hands with the opposing team, except that they don't do that in MLB.

What's weird is that you actually care about this

For a guy who constantly gets mad at people for caring about things that don't matter(fights in hockey, coaches who yell, God favoring Tim Tebow) Bernstein certainly spends a lot of time caring about things that don't matter.

So the Cubs and Cubs fans were happy that they won a game in exciting fashion. The Knicks were ecstatic when they beat the Bulls in a meaningless game too. It's why you watch games.

If anyone actually enjoyed sports like Bernstein thinks you should, there would be about 20 days in your whole life worth being happy(Either winning a championship or trading for a QB or Kobe Bryant are the only acceptable reasons to be happy).

I think Bernsy was referring to the way the Cubs beat the Cardinals last night. By the way, those 2 have to talk quick. "Who's Your Guy?: Part 3" airs at 1:30p today due to White Sox/A's on the White Sox Radio Network and Ranger's pre starts at 2p this afternoon. Laurence "Mr. Multimedia" Holmes follows Ranger's postgame today, complete with "HATER WEDNESDAY" at 9p.

Full disclosure: SHARK follows Bernsy on Twitter, and I saw that myself.

Jason Goff & Brendan "Baldy McGrindy" McCaffrey are producing & directing this very brief "B & B Show" today and Matt Abbatacola, who is scheduled to host tonight at 10p, is in the update studio. "Who's Your Guy?: Part 3" follows Drinky.

I agree with the first three sentence you wrote. But this is a relatively recent development. I'm sure you've seen teams just shake hands, though it may have been more than a few years ago.

I find it kind of silly myself, but it is what it is. Current fashion. Similarly, I always found it funny when Cub pitchers got steamed at a guy watching his homer when they had the Sosa hop going on. If you're going to angry at a guy showboating after a homer, you're going to be angry every game.

I would like to add Champagne celebrations after winning a first round playoff series is also retarded.

Well Darkside, last time I checked three people were of the opinion that you're gayer than Panther. I'm certain they're wrong.

How can something be gay-ER? I mean, like a little gay is like just gay right? There's really no wiggle room there.

At least not for Boyd, apparently.
