I think I'm tuning out on Monday. I don't want to listen to Dan and Terry talk about how the Bulls are doomed because of Rose' injury. Of course Dan will make it seem like he knew this was coming and how they should have traded for Dwight Howard, so John Lucas would have someone to throw the ball to. |

Terry's Peeps wrote: No. Come on, Peeps. That first tweet was specifically designed as a "scoop". The others are just ass-covering. He reported from a source that Rose was good. It's his responsibility to know whether his source knows what the fuck he's talking about. This is like the Facebook/Microsoft model of journalism. Don't worry if it's right. Just get it out there. We can fix it later. |

His stance from the beginning was "wait for the MRI". Plenty of times you can get on Goff for "flubs". This isn't one IMO. |

Well, one thing I'm 100% certain about is that if Rose had been fine, we would have heard something like this today: "Uh, uh, uh, I, I, again, when everyone else was predicting gloom and doom, uh, uh, look, in my world, and I mean *SIGH* everyone else was reporting torn ACL, torn MCL, what have you, but not our guy, Jason, he, uh, ah, Jason had the story immediately at 3:00, Rose was gonna be fine, now that's some damn fine reporting. Way to go, Jay." I just don't think you can have it both ways. |

No doubt Terry would've oversold it. Just like Terry calling Jason the Score's "NBA Expert". That's not on Goff though. |

@JORR: Sources very close to the situation are reporting Terry's Peeps is a complete knucklehead. @JORR: Personally, I don't think Peeps is a knucklehead. It's just what I'm hearing around the CSFMB. @JORR: Waiting for Phil McCracken to confirm whether Peeps is a knucklehead. |

Right on all counts. Although waiting for Phil to confirm anything other than what Scalabrine had for dinner is an effort in futility. |

Joe Orr Road Rod wrote: I suspect bernstein may go into a high-handed and authoritative mode regarding the informality of Twitter. Further confounding matters is that Big Daddy Deadspin broke the story. Torn between two lovers... A note on Deadspin, if I may, while we're in the neighborhood. While I hate ESPN as much as any capital-letters Informed Sports Fan for their half-assed NBA coverage, no-assed NHL coverage, baldly superficial journalistic integrity, and outright reprehensible office culture, the poor bastards almost come off as sympathetic when they're being dogged by the similarly integrity-deficient, pay-by-the-pageview grey knights of blogging. Eventually who even cares if Timmy Kurkjian got too drunk at an Applebee's outside Hartford. Just let them do their little sports channel and leave the rest of us alone. |

Curious Hair wrote: So, the Cowley thing. Do they A) Circle the wagons for a fellow member of the Ozzie Guillen ALS B) Ignore it altogether C) Condemn him for being a misogynistic jerkoff D) A or B but sure as shit not C Ripped from my post in the DB of the Week thread: Dan loves to excoriate Haugh et al for not waterboarding Lovie during pressers, but he's got some weird blind spot when it comes to Cowley's propensity for cultivating conflicts of interest, Twitter feuds, and a repellent dude-bro personality. At one point last year, he actually said "people may not like Cowley, but the guy gets great stuff." That being the case, the chalk pick is a few oblique jokey references, with JORR's Twitter strawman theory a close second. Thus continueth Dan's proud legacy as Ombudsman Of Sports Journalists, Except For Those Affiliated With The Score. In re Deadspin: Daulerio's a righteous sleaze, but somebody has to watch the watchmen. |

If they do address it, I suspect JORR's right and Bernstein will turn the discussion away from Cowley and toward the Twitter strawman. This is completely off-topic, but it's weird what the "edit post" feature can do. I mean, I stand by the above quote. But because I edited my post, said quote no longer exists. With apologies to Elmhurst Steve, editing posts is the weirdest part of message-board ontology. |

Terry's Peeps, you're really taking umbrage at the way that I consolidated Jason's three tweets into a single sentence without really changing anything that he said! |
