I'm kind of glad. Since Rose got hurt, I was rooting for a Bulls first round exit so we would have to hear Goff tell us that we don't know shit about basketball

Anyway, rank Goff's season. I thought it was better than last year's but still poor. If "insiders" had playoffs, Goff wouldn't have made it.

Your thoughts? Best moments? Worst moments?

My Best and Worst:

Best: When Goff said "All you mother fuckin' crackers that think Jermemy Lynn is good are dumb and y'all should be killed." That was awesome.

Worst: When he said "All cracker Bulls fans think that the Bulls are better without Rose. Fuck all of you dumb asses." This was horrible because he totally made this up. Why? No idea. Nobody thought this. Not even the dumb crackers. This was Goff's worst "Strawman" of all time. That's saying something cuz he has had a lot of them.

By his own admission, he watches half the game when attends. Making this a half assed job.

If you watch the TV guys or the beat guys, they mark down every moment they think is big in a game and watch everything.

Its the same with Larry, sometime she attends Bears game in the pressbox, but she doesnt track them like a reporter.

Fact is these guys go to talk about it on the air and get some free seats. Its basically the same or less than a diehard fan that attends every game.

My Buddy and his dad have 4 seats behind the Bulls bench. They have had these tickets since 1969 when he chose not to invest, but as a favor buy 4 season tickets. They see every huddle, are on TV every timeout and would be better to have on the air than 90% of the analysts on radio or TV.

In his defense, this is his side job. I'm sure he would be excellent at it if the Score would devote the resources to make him the Bulls/NBA insider. If that were the case, you could expect work like burning up the phone lines across the league to get stories and a presence at every practice. You are being unreasonable in your analysis.

Really?

You pulled out the "refer to him by a female pronoun to make fun of him" bit?

I hope this is a joke but IF he actually did say / tweet that - the sliding scale of who can say what and offend people needs some grease.

There is nothing wrong with Goff the insider there is something wrong with those that regard him as an insider. My problem with Goff is that he believes his insight is better than those that actually do this for a living. I have a problem when he says I don't give a damn about whtat those name your "expert" says because he that almighty Goff knows all. If it is his side job then he should not be presented as an expert because that suggests that basketball is all he does. There are go to guys in the business when it comes to basketball he is not one of them. He is a local guy with a local show who has seen a few bulls players out socially and reads blogs and posts on twitter. He might be a fan but that does not mean he is an expert

Mitch Rosen:The Heat just denied 100 percent of the story. It's a fabrication. You weren't honest. And worse, you wasted our time.

Jason Goff: Did you talk to Dwyane Wade?

Mitch Rosen: Dwyane Wade is the one who denied it.

Jason Goff: Now wait a second.

Mitch Rosen: Denied it. We're going with Baffoe's article. Manuscript's in my office.

Rod Zimmerman: He's just some fan. What do you expect?

The "Bulls insider" stuff seems a little bit unfair. It's pretty clear he's uncomfortable with the tag he was given. I think the Score thought it was a good way to increase his visibility at the station without giving him a deserved spot on a full time show. However, he still has other jobs so he doesn't have time to have a secret friendship with CJ Watson so he could have the inside scoop on the team.

Larry is on the air more than anyone, he works for NBC/Comcast, he tweets, he lusts over Kerry Washington and Anna Faris, and yet he still finds time for secret friendships.

I just don't get it at times. Did Goff treat someone mean when they were an intern, or did not help them try to land that open producers gig at the time?

RPB, I feel the same way about Laurence, or anyone. You know I dislike the Mully and Hanley show quite a bit, but I just don't have the energy to need to post every wrong thing that they do.

And Some Guy, Hi!

Before Goff got the self-apointed "Bulls insider" gig, he was Cleveland Lebron James. After he got it, he became Miami Lebron James. Fans have turnded on him. Goff tried to embrace it and play the villain, but he really doesn't want to be the villain.

He made some poor decisions in how he handled the promotion. Remember that press conference? Oh my God was that bad.

Goff: How many "Insider of the year" awards will I win? Not one, not two, not three...

Bad move. This sort of things turns people off. Not to mention him taunting Sam Smith and KC Johnson on press row. They were stunned that a rookie would do such a thing. They froze Goff out of covering the all star game because of it.

Holmes (especially) and Boers prop him up as a "Bulls Insider". Holmes goes out of his way to suggest that Goff has some sort of inside information that nobody is able to access. I believe the Holmes thinks the same way of himself for Bears information.

So is that the reason that you all give him so much shit, because others refer to him as an expert, and he's more or less just a fan that gets access to sit on press row and ask a few questions after a game?

Goff is a cool dude and is good at his job.

Laurence is a lame ass chump who's bad at his job.

All of Laurence's Criticism = Deserved
Most of Goff's Criticism = Undeserved

I still like LoHo (when he works alone) and Goff has dipped in my estimation because he thinks he is more clever than he is. He has not earned the right to bitch about his defective fridge for 20 minutes. PTFB radio, last time I listened.

Post subject:  Re: Goff's "Bulls insider" season is over

The insider stuff bothers me because it passes as analysis. And it is used too often to substitute for what a person is seeing on the court. I get tired of generic terms like confidence to describe how a player is playing. Asik did not miss free throws because he lacks confidence he missed them because he is a bad free throw shooter. People get things wrong so the insider stuff regarding the free agent signings did not bother me. I don't want to hear how a guy is "down on himself" because the coach yells at him. i want to get actual analysis from a guy that is supposed to be your basketball guy. The score used to have actual experts Doug Collins Hubie Brown Chuck Daly and then somewhere along the line they decided to go in house for whatever reason. I'm not interested in twitter feeds as a substitute for what i watch on the floor. Its nothing personal but the score has promoted him as their basketball guy and he has embraced that role also. I have heard things over the years that basketball guys would not state and for a long time it went unchallenged.
