Other than Gordon Beckham's 1st inning homer, the Sox made another unknown starting pitcher look unbeatable. That was the case with Twins' starter P.J. Walters, who went the distance allowing only 2 runs on 5 hits all night. I wonder if the guys will replay the interview with that Twins' beat writer from the Minneapolis StarTribune, Jim Souhan, that joined Bernsy & Jason Goff around 4:40p yesterday. The news isn't much better for the Cubs, now losers of 8 in a row, after a 2-1 loss to the Astros in Houston. I know the guys were ridiculing manager Dale Sveum's makeshift lineup before the game, but I wonder if patience among Cub fans is already being tested in Theo Epstein's first season trying to rebuild the Northsiders. Might the Cubs lose 100 games when the dust settles? You can bet they'll discuss the sorry state of the Cubs and whether calling up 1B Anthony Rizzo from Triple "A" Iowa gets the wheels in motion now.

There's also NBA Playoff talk, and I wonder if the Pacers lost more than Game 5 to the Heat last night in the Eastern Conference Semis with Danny Granger (ankle) & David West (knee) leaving Indiana's 115-83 loss in Miami. Game 6 is tomorrow in Indianapolis, and might the Pacers be down more than just 2-3 to the big, bad Heat? Also, do the Celtics finish off the Sixers in Philadelphia tonight in Game 6 of their EC Semifinal with a 3-2 series edge for Boston?

Since Rosey's in the house today, might a discussion of a certain Blackhawk named Patrick Kane be brought up, let alone how the Hawks try to bounce back from another first round playoff flop? Might they also bring up the surprising Kings eliminating the Coyotes to punch their first Stanley Cup Finals' ticket since 1993? We'll find out this afternoon.

If Cubs fans don't understand what Theo is doing, then too bad. I read Imrem's (Daily Herald goof) column yesterday where he said rebuilding shouldn't be this bad. Well, it's not rebuilding on the fly ala Kenny Williams. It was get a $140M payroll down, use a bunch of scrubs in the meantime, and develop a minor league system. There is about 10% major league talent on this roster- Garza, Dempster, and Castro. Everything else is questionable. I am ok with the process. For the first time in my life, I feel like the Cubs have a real plan for building a long term sustainable winner. We're going to find out if LaHair can play at the major league level. We see development of our key stars and the refusal to bring them up at the wrong time. We saw major investment in young players with last years draft.

There is exactly one bad contract left on this roster. I am excited for the future.

2 months in and people don't understand rebuilding.

Rosenbloom's hit or miss with me. He's open and honest that he's a total dick about everything, hates you, and hates me. It's not so much he's wrong about stuff, he's just an asshole. Whenever Bernsy is actually away, is it purely coincidence that Goff & Holmes are #1 & #2 to work with Boers ahead of Abbatacola as guest co-hosts? I thought Matty was executive producer of the "Boers & Bernstein Show". too.

I'm of the mind that Drinky and Bernstein's friendship is more or less a facade perpetuated for the sake of professionalism.
