Terry & Dan B. are back in the SCORE Studios this afternoon, but might the bulk of their show starting today be pointed front & center at a certain Pennsylvania courthouse following transition with Mac & Spiegs around 1:15p or so?

That's right, folks. The sex abuse trial of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky officially starts today, and Bernsy has made no secret of the show's plan to cover the upcoming proceedings like a blanket. Might that mean constant check-ins with SCORE Sports Legal Expert Eldon Ham or one of the many reporters a lot closer to the scene such as Sara Ganim, whom Bernsy not only follows on Twitter, but has been on the forefront of a disgusting story that like it or not needs to be told? If that's the case, a lot of the other sports from the weekend might be lost in the shuffle.

Might the White Sox be bad at baseball after all following a disappointing 4-5 homestand and losing 2 out of 3 to the mediocre at best Blue Jays and a bad Astros' team that the Sox will see a lot more of starting next year when Houston goes to the American League? Could there be trouble on the horizon with Gavin Floyd & Phil Humber scuffling badly in the starting rotation and might the Sox be minus 3B Brent Morel for the forseeable future with nagging back trouble that might need surgery?

As for the Cubs, might there be suckers, I mean teams interested in OF Alfonso Soriano & starting pitcher Ryan Dempster with the MLB Trade Deadline not far away? While both guys did their jobs individually over the weekend in Minneapolis, the Twins took 2 out of 3 as the Cubs continue to sink deeper into last place in the NL Central.

The NBA Finals are set as LeBron's Heat faces KDurant's Thunder starting tomorrow in Oklahoma City, and ABC bosses have their fingers crossed that Joe Fan actually tunes into what should be a doozy of a Finals' matchup.

The NHL Stanley Cup Finals resume in Los Angeles tonight as the Kings try for a third time to finish off the Devils in Game 6. L.A. leads the series 3-2, but that clinching win has been a lot harder than they bargained for.

Last but not least, what were the judges looking at when they ruled in favor of Timothy Bradley late Saturday night beating Manny Pacquiao for Manny's WBO title in Las Vegas? All indications pointed towards Pacquiao keeping his title, based on the scorecards I saw. All that, we hope, between 1:15p-ish & 6p on 670 The SCORE & 670thescore.com. In the meantime, Bernsy writes about international soccer and thuggery(?) in his latest column. You'll find that here:

Makes sense, there is nothing else to take about this time of year, so go for it with the Penn State molester.....

I'm sure there will be plenty of "Barely Legal" radio going on until this thing is done and beaten to death for the 2 millionth time.

Oh well, maybe not. I'm hoping not at least, plenty of other stuff to talk about, MLB trades, Sox/Cubs, The NBA Finals....etc.

I thought it was a show thread to be honest with you. Besides, this show in particular has been front & center on Jerry Sandusky since the story broke. It's not as much a sports story as it is both a crime & hard news story.

By the way, SHARK is not Mitch Rosen.

Oh yeah, bringing that hard news and more child rape humor in 5 hours than any comedian has done in their career... Fucking scumbags.

At least an hour of LeBron love

Dan Bernstein ‏@dan_bernstein
James can get a good shot or get fouled, or find an open man on every possession. No reason to do anything else. It's not complicated.

There's nothing funny about what has happened at Penn State involving Jerry Sandusky. Like it or not, this story has to be told. Other than Bernsy's imitation of the late Joe Paterno occasionally, they've been serious for the most part on this disgusting story.

Really, SHARK? How about listing the bios of the members of the jury and declaring their votes while danny sing-songs how he's going to win a dinner bet? You really consider that serious? B&b would be well-advised to let serious people cover serious subjects and stick with "by cracky" and "T.B. Diddler's".

Yeah, the table-pounding, yelling and "Big Bad Serious BernSTINE" playing big bad serious journalist lecturing us about how important this is doesn't carry much weight when you have them making light/telling bad jokes about Sandusky raping kids in the shower and doing the noises and such.

The overall impact takes a bit of a hit.

I think Dan will surprise everyone and ignore Penn State talk and talk about summer CAMP for 5 hours.

If not that maybe over explained scripted NBA jargon that is sure to impress Maddux Boy.
Hearing Dan talk NBA "stuff" is like a puppet show for blind people.

Don't tell that to Bernstein, he keeps saying it's a sports story.

I prefer Boers/Bernstein stick to sports, and not legal arguments on the trial. The same hosts who ridicule their callers as being stupid then spend time debating the legal questions/comments that they receive from them. I'm not saying that some of the talk isn't interesting or legitimate, but I think it's better for everyone if they stick to the subjects that they are supposedly "experts" on, and leave the legal opinions to a different forum/show.

The sports angle to this story is of course, Penn State football. Other than that, it's a hard news & crime story, BD.

Here's the Monday game plan with Terry & Dan B:

*3:30p: "The Second Half"

RED ALERT! RED ALERT! Zach Zaidman is on "Scoreboard Update" duty this afternoon through 6p. Terry's "two favorite words in show business" is back from vacation. That's Laurence "Mr. Multimedia" Holmes, who will host a full 4-hour nighttime SCORE starting at 6p. One-third of Laurence's "A Team", Connor McKnight, follows Holmes at 10p for 2 hours of late night sports talk leading into "SCORE Overnight" with Les Grobstein & Adam Harris. Those guys will have "Bum of the Week" when Les & Adam sign on at Midnight.

I think Bernsy was referring to the graphic testimony already being mentioned in Day 1 of the Sandusky Trial, too graphic for broadcast. He also mentioned possible new trouble according to NBC News for ex-Penn State President Spanier based on what I've heard to this point.

On a separate note, CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman is tweeting that the Cubs' deal for OF Jorge Soler is 9 years, $30 million.
