1) Racial implications. There's this idea they skirted around last week that if you don't like LeBron James, who came out of the ghetto to be a legendary basketball player, it's because you have some deep-seated resentment of black people who do well for themselves against the odds. However, this is a folly, because if you don't like it when black people are successful, perhaps following professional sports is not for you. The implication seems to be that The Community, as represented by Jason, is rooting for LeBron, and so anyone rooting against LeBron is most tastelessly doing so in opposition to black people. Of course, people who want Oklahoma City, the "white team," to beat decidedly not-white Miami are putting their hopes in the hands of a team whose best players are--gasp!--also black. Is Kevin Durant then somehow less black? I don't think so, and I'd hope not, but this show has developed a curious position as an arbitrator of black people's blackness.

2) stick it to Michael Jordan

The empirical evidence is overwhelming.......

Ok, this bullshit line of reasoning flies high in......

Right! Dan said, Goff bled it!

Smart basketball fans in Chicago, NYC, and Miami know this to be true. The rest of the basketball viewing populace is stupid. The empirical evidence on this is unquestionable

How does caring who cheers against the Heat/LBJ get you closer to an NBA Championship? In my world that's just basketball stupid.

That's pretty much the B&B show.

This. Being a contrarian gives Bernstine a concrete-busting boner.

I haven't heard this show lately but has Boers jumped on this bandwagon? I remember last year he sounded reasonable whenever Bernstein would whine about people rooting against Lebron. He essentially said that as someone fueled by hate, he's not going to get on the case of anyone rooting passionately against a particular player/team

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think what most fans hate is not LBJ himself but the sham he pulled along with Wade & Bosch. Teasing other NBA franchises when the three of them knew they would all end up in Miami. I personally think Lebron is the best player in the NBA and nobody else comes close. I want to see Miami lose to teach those 3 guys that you can't control destiny. Of course,if they do win, more power to them. LeBron still has a way to go to catch a Kobe Bryant in terms of success and accomplishments. He will never match up to Jordan because he lacks the "killer instinct".

Plenty of people love to cheer against Tiger too. That was even before he was found to be an incredible douche. Isn't that what sports fanaticism and sports talk is about? Someone to root for as well as against? If not we would like soccer and be ok with ties.

I think B&B became James supporters during the year Rose won the MVP. They continued to say that LeBron was the best player even though Rose won the award.

It's very simple why people (including myself) hate LeBron James.

1. Declaring yourself "The King". King of what, MVP awards? I don't think Jordan or Kobe have called themselves kings and they would have every right to.

2. The Decision. What an out and out bunch of fucking garbage. They knew where they were going all along and just enjoyed fucking with fans/players/management.

3. The stupid coming out party/coronation/jerkfest when the three fucktards joined the Heat. Then D(ouche)-Wade complained he didn't like their opponents over-celebrating when they were beat. Fuck you too.

I hope the Heat and their fans developing chronic diarrhea and syphilis.

Goof and Bernstein just like the Heat/LBJ to not be called homers. Homos yes, but homers no.

This pic says it all for me. Get back to me later when LeBron retires.

I hated the Lakers during showtime. I hated the Celtics in the 80s. I can certainly find it in my heart to hate the Heat today.
