It's off to Sideouts in Island Lake for the "Bud Light 'Who Needs Two?' Tavern Tour" with Boers & Bernstein this afternoon on 670 The SCORE & 670thescore.com. After being nipped just a bit by Rangers/White Sox afternoon baseball yesterday, the guys have a full show today and a lot to talk about as always.

If it's Friday on this program, you know the guys will check in from U.S. Cellular Field with White Sox TV analyst & SCORE Chicago Baseball Insider Steve Stone come 2p to look back on how the Sox were able to sweep the red hot Rangers and what they need to do to continue their All-Star momentum with the Blue Jays this weekend. You can also bet Stone will have a few words on 1B Anthony Rizzo's arrival at Wrigley, and how much longer Ryan Dempster & Matt Garza will be pitching for the Cubs with the MLB Trade Deadline on the horizon.

Speaking of the Chicago National League Ballclub, I think the guys will do the same with Cubs' TV voice Len Kasper before their weekend series with the Mets at Citi Field in Queens, NY starting tonight. The Cubs are coming off a 7-3 loss last night to the Braves in Atlanta, but were able to split the 4 with Fredi Gonzalez's crew down there.

The NBA continues to make moves, even though official signings aren't until Wednesday. One name who was on the Bulls' wish list is now off, with word late last night that Brandon Roy, bad knees and all, signed a 2-year deal with the Timberwolves. How much longer will be the Bulls be on the sidelines and could they also lose out on Kirk Hinrich the longer they sit? There might be talk about that and the possibility of Jeremy Lin going down to Houston in addition to Bernsy's buddy Omer Asik.

All of that, and you know the guys can't help or stop themselves from discussing the very latest creepiness from (Un)Happy Valley, PA involving the Penn State football scandal. Bernsy has already done so on Twitter this morning @dan_bernstein should you wish to follow along.

The guys hope to lighten the mood come 4p this afternoon with "Tales of Laziness" for "Friday Fung". It only seems fitting with 1 more day of 100+ degree heat & humidity and a potential record high for today if the mercury hits 104 like it did yesterday around these parts. It all starts at 1:15p or so following the daily transition with Mac & Spiegs.

Did little Danny Bernstein have a meatball slip yesterday or does he now allow sports fans to use the term "We" when discussing their favorite teams.
I have no problem with it but I seem to recall him scolding callers in the past.

Yesterday when discussing the Sox he said "I thought We'd win the first two and then get blown out of the water on getaway day".

I'd say that's a minor "gotcha" moment. Around 4:30-4:15 segment Bernstein went super creepy discussing a quote from a PSU QB. The most tasteless part was when he recited the texted "cheer" and couldn't stop giggling. Also, around 5:45ish they were joking around if Terry owned a bowling alley and it was great classic B&B radio. The discussion somehow got to Terry being alone in a basement and Bernstein tried to joke about rape room with Dottie being there. Total buzzkill moment. PSU is now invading B&B goofy-time and I hate it.

He was discussing what he thought was "motivation" for the upcoming Penn State football season by an incoming Penn State quarterback.

Hmm Friday Fung sounds like the entire segment could be about Terry Boers.

Well, it only seems fitting considering this awful heat & humidity, Denis. Even Bernsy can't stand it.

I want someone to call in and talk about a co-worker who never shows up at the office. When discussing the marketing strategy, he/she pulls out ideas last tried in the 1970's. When you ask if he/she saw the competitor's ad plan, they say "nope, must have missed that one". When the boss says something, the co-worker goes "that sounds about right". The possibility of forming his/her own opinion is remote, and he/she merely gravitates towards group think. When asked if he/she shaved this morning, the co-worker says, "by cracky".

Nothing more funny then joking about child-rape!

What a douche.

He is a total tool. Whether it's all an act or some part of his real life, I don't care. Folks have said B&B is the best sports talk show in Chicago, and they're probably correct. But I find that sad, and akin to being the tallest midget.

Having been to Island Lake on several occasions, I can assure you all, it sucks. There is a bowling alley that is attached to the bar that's not bad, also, Sideouts is a decent bar. The rest of the town sucks, though.

I may be more of a classic/hard rock guy, but there are some non-rock jams that I can recognize. That's one of them.

Guys, that's the song they now use promoting, appropriately Bud Light w/Lime, in TV commercials. After all, this is the "Bud Light 'Who Needs Two?' Tavern Tour" live broadcast, you know.

That was "Summer Madness" by Kool and the Gang, which was the sample for "Summertime."

Hey, look at Mr. Deadspin getting all buttshook when the Hot Nightclub Newzz is about his special little ward of Chicago and not any old Whitey McBroham.
