After 5 straight days of Laurence Holmes last week & the Trib's Steve Rosenbloom yesterday, Terry returns to the "Boers & Bernstein Show" this afternoon with Dan B. Needless to say, the guys have a lot to talk about and here's a rundown of what they might be discussing after the daily transition with Mac & Spiegs around 1:15p or so...

*Kevin Youkilis' Return to Boston Ruined; Gavin Floyd to the DL?
*Ozzie's Back...Marlins' Manager Still Firing Verbal Shots at Cubs
*2 Weeks and Counting...MLB Trade Deadline: Buy, Sell or Hold?
*Matt Forte's New Deal w/Bears: A Risky One?
*Still No Offer Sheet For Asik & Rockets: Bulls Still In Holding Pattern
*Joe Paterno's Statue to Stay Up Despite Penn State Scandal?

Those are just some of the things the guys might be talking about before Chris Rongey's "Horseshoe Casino/White Sox Radio Network Pregame" @ 5:35p in advance of White Sox/Red Sox once again in Boston.

If I'm man enough to criticize, then I can be man enough to give credit where it's due:

SHARK, the condensed preview is much better. Good job.

Reality check? Like the reality of pitchers getting dinged up and it hurting the White Sox chances of winning games?

Stories that need to be told:

-The fate of Danks
-Gavin's sore arm
-Possible trades for more pitching.
-Konerko's mediocrity/slump for the last 2 months or so.

With the questions surrounding the pitchnig staff....Paulie is going to need to start slugging again and the offense in general is going to need to score a lot of runs. I know, not the most in-depth analysis, but that about covers it concerning my White Sox stuff.

Post subject:  Re: 7/17: Terry's Back; Reality Check for White Sox?

The reality check might be this. These White Sox might not be in first place much longer if their starting pitching continues to break down, the kiddie bullpen of theirs can't find the strike zone & guys like Paulie continue to slump. The 8th inning of last night's 5-1 loss to the injury-ravaged Red Sox in Boston could be a bad omen of what lies ahead.

Looking forward to a couple hours of a post-vaca rejuvenated Terry before a rapid flameout.

The White Sox offense cannot afford extended slumps with that bullpen dependent on rookies and a starting rotation being patched together. 3 runs in the last 2 games (and 6 in the last 3 games) won't cut it. This offense has to get it going.

Bernstein preparing for today's show...

"Let's see, at 1:00 we transistion and I can setup talking about Penn State. Usual intros, then at 1:35, we can continue to talk about Penn State. At 1:45, I'll do my Joe Paterno impression. At 2:00, we will bring in some guy that no one in Chicago knows about to talk about Penn State. Then at 2:24, we can take callers on Penn State. Then after the update I will do some more impressions of Joe Paterno..."

It is confirmed. Philip Humber returns tonight from the DL to face Boston lefty Jon Lester. Pedro Hernandez (?) might be called up from Triple "A" Charlotte to start the game tomorrow vs. the Red Sox' Felix Doubront, while pitching coach Don Cooper told Ranger on his pregame show last night that Jose Quintana wraps up the series in Boston vs. Franklin Morales Thursday night.

Man, this might turn out to be a very long next month or two. With the pitching staff being what it is at this point I'm hoping for the White Sox to tread water, make a move and get healthy to make a run at the division title. Still very winnable.

You have a valid point. If Chris Sale and/or Jake Peavy go down, these White Sox are done.

Fuck, Bernsie just can't help himself with the Penn St. shit.

Of course "Derp Derp, did you guys see the story about the plane???!!!" GASP!!! And Sarah Ganim is going to get to the bottom of it! So says Twitter!

And more replaying/reading comments and interviews verbatim!

Sigh......Christ! I won't stop.....now they are having some Penn St. guy who is head of "Paternoville!" and the groundbreaking decision that saw them, OH MY GOD, change the name! How courageous! Let's have him on for a segment to waste more time about shit no one cares about!!!! What cutting edge work by BernSTINE.

Gotta love Mac, in his I don't give a shit/FU BernSTINE voice, change the subject to Boers' vacation.

Bernsy said they'll play the comments of NCAA President Mark Emmert from last night's "Tavis Smiley Show" on PBS regarding the possibility of the death penalty for Penn State football coming up this afternoon.

I know, more retreading of stupid shit. This story is pretty much done yet Detective BernSTINE can't stop dragging it out, yelling at us about how important it is, and wasting airtime with bad radio. Enough, Danny B., just stop.

This is way Mac and Speigs host a far superior show on average. A variety of topics, a loose atmosphere, a fun vibe...you get the point. B&B give you the exact opposite. You get lectured, you get yelled at about child rape, repeating of the same topic over and over and PUKE.

I'm gonna try to listen today, but the PTFB button looms large.

Here's the Tuesday game plan with these guys...

*2P: NittanyVille V.P./Penn State Student Jeff Lowe-Dropping the PaternoVille Name
*3:30P: "The Second Half"

"Scoreboard Updates": Matt "You're Being Replaced by...Kye Martin on NBC5?" Rodewald

As previously mentioned, the guys are nipped again at 5:35P for Chris Rongey's "Horseshoe Casino/White Sox Radio Network Pregame" from the SCORE Studios in advance of White Sox/Red Sox. Game 2 at Boston's Fenway Park starts at 6:10P. Joe Ostrowski hosts live, local sports talk following Ranger's "Xfinity Postgame" from 9:30P-ish until Midnight.

BEST OF ALL...A LAURENCE HOLMES-FREE ZONE!!! HOLMES IS OFF THE SCORE ALL THIS WEEK!!!

Gonna be a short listen today.

Fuck off, douche.

The story's not going away anytime soon. I didn't think the NCAA had the balls to give the death penalty to any university after SMU back in 1987, I do believe. This Penn State scandal might be an exception.

Ya know, I haven't really listened in quite some time....I come back and have a gander and I'm met with another garbage show.

I wish Mac was in afternoons and BernSTINE was over at NPR or something.

I'm so glad we have Bernsie the martyr, who is willing to take all the threats, and the slings, and the arrows so WE can hear about this most important story. THANK GOD Dan Bernstein isn't afraid of the repercussions of taking on such a controversial stand that child rape is WRONG. I can only wish and hope that I had the testicular fortitude of a Dan Bernstein. I could only pray that my children grow up to be the fearless paragon of truth, justice, and the American way that Dan is!!!!!

Dan Bernstein has lost his fucking mind!

Yes! The president of "NittanyVille" will be on the show to talk about suffering grievous threats, promises of bodily-harm, threatened families and imprisonment because they dared to stand up for what was right, stand against the controversial topic of child rape and GASP! change the name of their group from Paterno-Ville to Nittany-Ville! I hope he brings us first hand knowledge of the danger he put himself through to....fill out the paperwork, fax some documents and tell people he changed the name! I wonder if he will recount all of the foul mouth Tweets that had swear words in them! Oh my!

Rumor has it the President of Nittany-Ville is doing this interview from an undisclosed location, protected by an armed contingent as well!! What a brave soul!
