Post subject:  8/16: Bye Bye Bourbonnais!

This afternoon, Terry & Dan B. are back in Bourbonnais for the final SCORE live broadcast from Bears' Training Camp. They're supposed to do Gary from Evanston's favorite segment come 5P, but considering where they're at and the very real likelihood of Bears' players joining the guys in the trailer as they wrap up practice, there's a chance "Who Ya Crappin'?" might be postponed. If you've heard Bernsy always say "Surprises along the way" in the opening of every "Boers & Bernstein Show", this might be one of those days where it really does apply.

The guys are nipped one more time this afternoon for White Sox/Blue Jays' baseball. Chris Rongey has the "Horseshoe Casino/White Sox Radio Network Pregame" @ 5:30P from the SCORE Studios downtown with first pitch in Toronto @ 6:07P. That part is a given no matter what.

Why don't they just have training camp in Lake Forest? I don't get it.

I expect at 3:39 PM the fellers will toss a quick ataboy to Phil Rogers column today. It could be the first, and maybe the last. Then they go back to ripping him.

The Bears continue Training Camp in Lake Forest after today, CH. Joe Bears' Fan can't attend those practices after today. :(

Good. They can probably be more productive without slack-jawed yokels yelling at Lance Briggs to "tackle better" or something.

Speaking of Lance, you think you know who had a chance to catch up with him? A certain SCORE evening host who may be pre-empted again tonight, but will be subbing for Boers tomorrow when the "Bud Light 'Who Needs Two?' Tavern Tour" heads to Kenwood Liquors in Oak Lawn and will be on NBC5 over the weekend... You know...

Bears' Head Coach Lovie Smith: "Laurence, Laurence, Laurence!'

My guess is it's to "bring the team together in close quarters" type thing. Who knows if that actually works. But I bet the Bears weren't too happy to see the Fins on Hard Knocks staying in a luxury hotel.

If I had said "slack-jawed yokels yelling at Julius Peppers," how would you have segued into demonstrating that you know where this week's remote is and that Leery is subbing?

Funny you mention Julius Peppers. He's black! You know who else is? . . .

I think the Bears really like the arrangement at Olivet-Nazarane University in Bourbonnais, and I believe the Bears want to extend their Training Camp deal for many years to come. Besides, I thought I heard somewhere that 12,000 fans made the trip to Bourbonnais for one of the team's open to the public practices. That can't be done in Lake Forest.

Connor McKnight has "Scoreboard Updates" on this show, which only has "The Second Half" @ 3:30P, A "Chicago Football Report" with RED ALERT! RED ALERT! at an undetermined time & "WYC" still scheduled for 5P. That's all they've got...at least for now in Bourbonnais.

Uh oh! Bernsy's bent out of shape about Joe Posnanski, his upcoming book about Penn State football, creepy Jerry Sandusky, the late Joe Paterno & "The Second Mile".

I think Bernsie has officially lost his mind.

It must be tiring everyday to find somebody who doesn't understand the PSU thing and to painstakingly walk them through their incorrect thought-processes.

It's like he's out there looking for a new person everyday that he can identify as having bad thoughts and then explain it to them...again. And somebody else the next day will get the same explanation....again. Rinse and repeat. Shower reference unintentionally intended.

Are you saying that this story doesn't need to be told? Because this story needs to be told.

One of these days Bernsie is gonna leave the studio, walk 20 feet, and drop dead with a grabber. Sadly, I'm starting to root for this to happen.

Oh, it needs to be told. I just don't think it needs to be told in a customized fashion to every person in the country one-by-one.

I don't know about that, but the day is coming when one of these guys might be so mad about a topic, that they leave and keep on walking.

I don't know why everyone's ragging on Crane Kenney. If I were the president of the Cubs, I'd hang out in the office in a Cubs jersey. And no pants.

Damn. They got to it (it being Kenney and Rogers column) sooner than expected. Guess the PSU talk didn't generate the right type of demented caller.

edited for cleerity.

They think Crane Kenney might stick his nose where it doesn't really belong...on the baseball side now that Theo Epstein is calling the shots.

I was listening on my radio at work. Luckily I could whip out my Tune-In app to hear the undumped version. Hilarious!

Must be a good show. SomeGuy and JORR aren't complaining. That's usually my indicator.
