Nobody wants to go to the high priced games. Especially on a week day. Sox do very well when it's the standard price and the sox are good. People still watch regardless. I'll bet the Sox TV numbers are huge. So you like the packed houses at Yankee stadium, Ed Farmer? That's great Guess what we like better? Every other "play by play" man in MLB. This is Chicago and we get you. That's bad. You suck. Terrible calls on big plays. Boring conversations with DJ. And I'm not gonna give my organs to anybody you son of a bitch!!!! |

Ed Farmer was disappointed that Joe White Sox fan didn't want to spend his hard-earned money watching the Yankees for the kind of $$$$ the Sox were supposedly charging. He also sounded jealous that when the White Sox go to Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park and other road venues, they're playing in front of packed houses in comparison to what the White Sox play in front of themselves. I can't say I blame him, especially when I heard Yankee fans at times making more noise than Sox fans...in the White Sox own ballpark! |

Like I said in another thread. They sold out a couple of half priced Mondays. They've had 30k plus on weekdays the last home stand for standard prices as well. So people come for the right price. It's on the Sox for bad pricing Now, maybe it's better for them to get 25k at a jacked up price than 35k at a standard price. I don't know. I doubt it cuz the extra 10k will be buying high priced concessions and parking so the Sox would probably make more money that way. People do come. Sox just need to learn that the opponent doesn't matter much to the Sox fan. So don't jack up the prices. |

People have the money. It's just a matter of what they want to spend it on. I'd rather drop $200 at a strip club with the Sox on the TV than $200 at the game. Or just go to a bar and drop $40 watching the game. I'll bet the bars and strippers are doing real well in Chicago with the Sox doing well. So be happy for them, Ed Farmer, you bitch. Some people like watching the Sox that way. |

Goff needs to shut the fuck up telling people that they shouldn't bitch about prices. Nobody at that station cries about being poor more than him. |

There are numerous times I check stubhub and tickets are readily available for anywhere from $6 to $15, you can take the L, and you can bring in a cooler with FOOD and DRINKS (sans alcohol)....so the cost thing is a lame excuse |

Here's something else to chew on. I think because ticket prices are so high, especially because the Yankees are among the PREMIUM teams in the White Sox ticket package, many fans would rather watch the games in crystal-clear HD in their own home instead of traveling down to U.S. Cellular Field to watch the games in person. I don't know if that was a reason why Joe Sox Fan stayed away from the games the last 3 nights and missed their ONLY chance at seeing Robinson Cano, Derek Jeter and one of the signature teams in not just Major League Baseball, but all of sports for that matter. For the longest time, and this dates back to MLB's last work stoppage in 1994, I thought there was a degree of fan apathy that kept Joe Sox Fan away from the ballpark. It wasn't just the steep upper deck at what used to be called New Comiskey Park that kept fans away, but I thought there were a lot of Sox fans pissed off at Owner/Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf for being more interested at that time in trying to break the MLB Players Association more so than bringing home the World Series title like they did in 2005. |

I wonder if Joe Sox Fan says "alls" the tickets cost too much, "excapes" for the weekend, and parks in a "grodge." |

Here's an idea for the WHite Sox and their media lackeys. Stop complaining about low attendance and own up to the fact that your "dynamic pricing" has been a colossal failure. People have no idea what it costs to go to a given game. You dug in your heels after the first Cub game was half empty and refused to lower the walk-up prices for the final two games of the series. It seems like "dynamic" only means "higher". It isn't 1999. If I remember correctly I made over $300,000 in '99. This year I may show a net operating loss. I'm sure there are many, many, many people in the same boat. So charge $60 for a Yankee bleacher seat and have an empty park or lower the prices and fill the fucker up. Either way, I don't give a fuck. Just stop whining about it. |

They're not the Yankees, but the Mariners are here this weekend to face the White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field. They don't exactly have household names besides Felix Hernandez in Seattle, but it shouldn't cost nearly as much to see Seattle this weekend as the Yankees the last 3 nights. You'd think Sox fans would show up, not to mention see a true crowd pleaser twice this weekend in postgame fireworks after the Friday & Saturday night games. If you tune into Sox games on both TV & radio, they have encouraged fans to visit whitesox.com/pricing and click on the icon on the home page so that we can see a Sox game for less money than they're charging at the box office. They think it's a way for Sox fans to save money and still go to a ballgame. |

Sox will have over 30k for every game vs. the shitty Mariners. Probably close to sell outs. Cuz those are priced right. Like I said, Yankees don't impress Sox fans. It's all about the right price. |

I'm looking at the schedule. Sox have a weekday series against the Tigers in September. Sox priced that game at their lowest level. They call it "regular". That series will be sold out. I guarentee it. |

Nah. Kids are in school, people can't take off work as easily, people are afraid the Tigers might win... |

Although everyone would deny it, I'm also sure Reinsdorf had some input into the Yankee and Cubs series being played during the week. He figured he'd get his weekend attendance anyway and then get a weekday bounce from those teams. I guess it didn't work out. Maybe we should hold a benefit for Uncle Jerry. |

But how does it have anything to do with attendance? Those tickets have already been sold and counted. |
