After being away the last couple of days for Yom Kippur, Bernsy is back in the driver's seat today with Boers following the daily transition with Mac & Spiegs around 1:15P or so. Needless to say, the guys have a lot to discuss such as...

*The Return of Regular NFL Officials Starting Tonight: Browns/Ravens
*"Jay Day" @ Halas Hall-Bears Continue Preps for Cowboys Monday Night in Arlington, TX
*The Beginning of the End for the '12 White Sox? A 6-4 Loss to the Indians; Rays Here Tonight
*Cubs Closing In on 100 Losses; A Free Agent Player This Offseason?
*"Who Ya Crappin'?" @ 5P-Gary from Evanston's Favorite Segment

I'm going to sit back and await Boyd's preview. Someone needs to tell me to "listen or don't."

Sung to the tune of "My Boyfriend's Back" by The (Not Los Angeles of Orange County) Angels

So Bernstein's back and there's gonna be some trouble
(Hey la, Day la, Bernstein's back)
Who Ya Crappin at 5 with Unemployed Lawyer
(Hey la, Day la, Bernstein's back)
Townstone Readings won't get fucked up any more
(Hey la, Day la, Bernstein's back)
So listen or don't or Travis will eat your face
(Hey la, Day la, Bernstein's back)

There are plenty of folks around here that are gay for Bernsie, so the original lyrics work just fine:

My boyfriend's back and you're gonna be in trouble
(Hey la, hey la, my boyfriend's back)
When you see him comin' you better head out on the double
(Hey la, hey la, my boyfriend's back)
You've been spreadin' lies that you know untrue
(Hey la, hey la, my boyfriend's back)
So look out now 'cause he's comin' after you
(Hey la, hey la, my boyfriend's back)

Pretty decent chance of the show absolutely sucking today.

Speaking of sucking, the Royals are doing just that. 4-0 Tigers Top 3 at Comerica Park.

I didn't really mean it SHARK. I was just trying to suck up to SomeGuy and Hawg Ass.

Don't worry about us, KS.

Just focus on being true to yourself and being the best poster you can be.

Shouldn't it be "were" instead of "was"? Can someone assist me here? Also, someone will need to confirm the assist.

 jerk

Anyways, since you never listen to the show :| , what DO you listen to in the afternoons?

If I'm working from home I will turn on Spotify or something. In the car I will just listen to music.

I'll give B&B a shot every couple of days but I find myself quickly changing the station....bad.

I believe you are correct, Greg. Curious Hair can probably confirm.

Love that Walgreens spot they've been playing with Hanley introducing a Walgreens "pharmist".

Aren't there similar commercials on other Chicago radio stations with a Walgreens pharmacist?

Yes, it's the rare visible indicative/subjunctive switch in English. Counterfactual statements (I wish the news were better = the news is not better) require going from I was/you were/it was to I were/you were/it were.

Right now, it's 4-0 Tigers in the bottom 6th. The Royals have 4 errors and Doug Fister has allowed only 1 hit & 7 K's so far this afternoon. By the time the White Sox & Rays go to work at U.S. Cellular Field tonight, the Detroit lead could be a game and a half.

KS should really be excited about today's programming, since it's Finger-Up-The-Butt day.

I know it's not exactly what he's used to .... just consider the finger "fun size"

So KC is getting royally Fistered right now SHARK?

Absolutely. Matt Rodewald has the unhappy details of the Royals/Tigers' game as well as "Scoreboard Updates" this Thursday afternoon.

As for the Game Plan:

*2P: Yahoo Sports' Dan Wetzel-His Column on the Return of NFL Regular Officials Tonight
*2:30P: Former MLB 3B Wade Boggs-A Rays' Scouting Report
*3:30P: "The Second Half"
*4:30P: NFL Network/"NFL on FOX" Analyst Brian Billick-Working Vikings/Lions Sunday
*5P: "Who Ya Crappin'?"
*TBA: The SCORE/WBBM Newsradio/Bears Radio Network's Zach Zaidman-"Jay Day" at Halas Hall

Terry's "two favorite words", Laurence "DECAF PLEASE!" Holmes has 35 minutes of bridge-building sports talk @ 6P leading into Chris Rongey's "White Castle Pregame" for Rays/White Sox from U.S. Cellular Field. Rongey's pregame starts @ 6:35P with first pitch @ 7:10P. Les Grobstein has the EP version of "SCORE Overnight" after Rongey's "Xfinity Postgame" through 5A Friday.

I don't get Bernstein's logic that "you can't get upset about a loss where you walk 12 guys."

Isn't that exactly the kind of game you should be upset about?

Doc, I wasn't thrilled. The Indians left 15 on base and won a game that took its own sweet time.

Nah ... he's waiting for the end of November special "Stuffing the Thanksgiving Turkey" treatment ... aka "Fists of Fury".

I could be wrong CH, but I think it's that whole beginning thing when he yells "Let's GO" and then does the whole DX "And if you're not down with that......"

It's very yelly.

That is correct. Laurence gets very yelly at the start of his show, regardless if it's 35 minutes or the usual 4 hours at night.

Well, I don't listen to his show, so that must be why I didn't get it.

Author:  SHARK [ Thu Sep 27, 2012 2:13 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: 9/27: Bernsy's Back; Beginning of the End for White Sox

It's very unnecessary hearing Laurence constantly yell "LET'S GO!" at the start of every nighttime show.

Ed Farmer: "Quit yelling!"
