After the dismal ends to our local baseball seasons, the forced analysis of a game against a Jacksonville team that exists solely on a nominal basis, a horrible Bernstein parody piece about Tim Tebow, and some truly execrable Sox Attendance Talk, I think we're all feeling more than a little blue, grey, and careless right now. So it's to be hoped that mere proximity to free-flowing liquor will help the show's four principals loosen the fuck up a little bit, as they take the long trek to River North for another Friday remote. If there's one thing I've taken from this week of not particularly funny, happy, nor insightful programming, which I would text in if not for the fear of lifetime banning: there needs to be a moratorium on White Sox attendance talk. Enough. It's over. The fact that attendance is so low shows that this might not be a topic of great interest. That Sox fans lose their shit at Cubs fans, often justifiably so, for obsessing over attendance figures should confirm that this is not a topic of great interest. Attendance sucks everywhere right now because the economy is shit; it's just a matter of ticket brokers buying up fewer blocks to resell, thus the statistically worthless Tickets Sold numbers are lower than elsewhere. No one moved the turnstiles at Wrigley, either, but the StubHubbers still got in as they always do. You see, that's why Update Anchor/Sox Buttmonkey Matt Rodewald was snorting and guffawing twice an hour about how hilarious it was that Cubs tickets were on sale for 75 cents. So if this lack of secondary market inventory really bothers you guys, take it up with the scalpers and leave us alone already. Please. This is not a story that must be told. Find something else to talk about. Find anything else to talk about. Fuck, find nothing to talk about! That's when the show is at its best! Kind of unfortunate that there's been such an unpleasant vibe around the show and station the last few days, but they all swear up and down that nothing comes from the top to dwell on this shit; they all independently decide to make it a topic of discussion and all independently arrive at taking the same tack. Okay. Season's over. Attendance at Comiskey today was zero. It'll be zero for six months. Let this be the end. Probably going to be a Bears-out-the-ass show because it's a Friday and that's their thing now, and I guess until further notice the theme for Friday Fung is "Tales of a Mediocre College Football Conference," so my hopes aren't high, but it was a pretty dark week in weather and program tenor alike, so it would be nice if they just made us all laugh at esoteric silliness again. |

I saw a bunch of players getting hit in the head during last nights Cardinals vs. Rams game....maybe its time to dust off the CTE discussion. Let me go get my popcorn. |

First of all, Kevin Kolb's wondering what was the name of that St. Louis Ram defensive player that smacked him silly. The Cardinals' QB was on his back 9 times and lost a fumble at the end in Arizona's 17-3 loss at St. Louis last night. If it means anything, The SCORE's own Hub Arkush, also with Pro Football Weekly & Dial Global Radio Network, brought up a valid point during his Tuesday visit with the guys. Arkush said that other teams around the NFL have offensive line issues. If you watched Cardinals/Rams last night, you saw proof of that. As for today, it is a "Crown Royal Football Friday" on 670 The SCORE, and the guys are on the "Bud Light 'Who Needs Two?' Tavern Tour" in River North this afternoon. They're at Bull & Bear, not to be confused with an old SCORE morning show hosted by very alive SCORE original Doug Buffone & the late Norm Van Lier, 431 N. Wells downtown following the daily transition with Mac & Spiegs at around 1:15P or so. You can bet there will be continued talk about Bears/Jaguars, plus BTN's Ben Stein-looking Gerry DiNardo at 4P to preview what appears to be an attractive matchup of college football matchups across America, not to mention Nebraska/Ohio State & Miami/Notre Dame at Soldier Field in prime time. |

God I totally forgot there was a game last night. Of course, it was Arizona and St. Louis, so why would I remember? Why would I want to? If nothing else, at least that's the kind of game you bury on a Thursday, not freaking Bears-Packers. |

I stepped into my time machine a few minutes ago and traveled to 10/15/2012 and listened to 670theSCORE from 1-6pm. Whatever happened to be on during that time really sucked. |

Hub isn't insightful at all. It's been common knowledge ever since I have been watching football that only a couple teams in the league every year are actually satisfied with their line. Hub is probably the only regular guest or segment that makes me turn on music or espn. |

The catch would be that they would have to be actual emails to the recipients. Nice phrasing on the CBS Minute just now. "Finally, I'm John Feinstein." You've always been John Feinstein! |

According to the 670thescore.com schedule, the voice of the Kane County Cougars, Wayne Randazzo, has another late night SCORE show starting @ 10P. "SCORE Overnight" in the form of Yahoo! Man, Rick Telander's ever-present fear of the robot apocalypse makes everything all right again. Laughed so hard. Also liked the dismissal of Rick's theory that Cabrera is ignored for being Hispanic. As if this show is allowed to call out flimsy race-baiting. |

I know SHARK. It's just that some unsuspecting rube could wander in and see that and think you were serious. Then they'd read it and be urged to kill. When the police picked him up and asked why he went on a multi-state killing spree, he'd blame you for recommending that article. You don't need that kind of hassle. |
