One last conspiracy for Goff before he takes the midnight train to Georgia. I'm not even sure I believe this one. But I'll throw it out anyway. It's certainly plausible. What the hell? Here we go... Mitch and Zim Goff's Atlanta deal for the greater good of the Score. Goff: CSFMB: Check it out. 1. The Mac vs. Goff war. 2. Goff's slow takeover of the B&B show with his nonsense in recent years. He talked more than Boers for the love of God 3. How fast Atlanta went down. Goff had said on twitter he just signed a new lease on an apartment. So this was brokered quickly. 4. Goff getting a little to full of himself for someone in a subordinate position - alienating listerners and co workers. 5. Mitch and Zim not wanting Bernstein clones. The original is more than enough for them. So maybe, just maybe Mitch and/or Zim, with their CBS connections, contacted the Atlanta PD and talked Goff up. Now, it's still a good move for Goff. But maybe it was a push out by his Score bosses. Unbeknownst to Goff, of course. He was thinking that Mitch and Zim were just trying to help him out. Just throwing it out there. One last crazy cracker thought for Goff. But I do believe that Mitch and Zim will never let a producer grow to the prominence of Goff ever again. I think they've learned their lesson. How do you like them apples? |

Can't wait to go to Dallas next month on Thanksgiving. Got some pretty good seats, too. Hoping to watch the actual game and not the big screen. |

Have you ever met the black Cowboys fan that used to rub his arm pits with Redskins pennants? NFL Films used to always get great shots of him. I wonder if he's still around. |

Have not. I've only been to one Redskins/Cowboys game, and that was in Landover. This will be my initial trip to Dallas. |

Just sayin'. How the hell would a PD in Atlanta know anything about a radio producer in Chicago? I think Goff said he's never met the PD or GM from this station. Goff would have to have someone recommend him. It would make sense to me that Mitch and Zim would know radio PDs and GMs around the country. |

Bernstein's tremendous influence at the Score has been discussed here. The "Bernstein Culture". Mitch and Zim realize it. Maybe they got sick of it. Maybe they want to rid the station of Bernstein's soldiers. |

It's not inplausible. This happens in corporate America all the time. It's a friendly way of getting rid of someone you like on a personal level for the greater good of the company. Goff had become unhinged over the last year or so. I think even the Goff fans would admit that. |

I think even the Goff fans would admit that. How? In what way? The race stuff. The "Da Ma Na" war. Telling people he knows everything about basketball. The "I told you" attitude. The "Fuck you" attitude. Just to name a few things. At the end of the day, he was just a producer. Mitch and Zim might have gotten sick of a producer having such a HUGE profile and voice at their station. It was partly their fault. They allowed Goff to become Frankenstein on their watch. But maybe they wanted to end it before he killed everybody in the village. |

How do you like them apples? Goff's a black guy. He couldn't move up by himself. The two white guys called the station owner before he started a revolt at their place. The guys in ATL took the brother off their hands. Hooray for white people. Did I miss anything? |

Had nothing to do with Goff being black. They'd push drinky out too if they could find GM or PD to take him. It has to do with a long tenured employee, in a subordinate position, becoming too comfortable and behaving as though he was more important than what he was. |

So it's not a revolt, it's "behaving badly"? |

Remember when Michael Corleone sent Tom to Las Vegas? Same thing. Michael loved Tom, but it was just business. He didn't fire him, he just transfered him. |
