Should be logical fallacies and Bears previews today! Perhaps even logical fallacies concerning Bears previews!

"Fictitious people everywhere think Lovie will get outcoached, but fictitious people are idiots."
"I have a Lions guy who says this team has some serious problems under the surface."
"The Lions are bad at football because they're bad at football."

aaaand so much more.

A funny tweet:

Quote:
Dan Bernstein ‏@dan_bernstein
Nothing the Bengals do ever seems important. They could win the Super Bowl, land on Mars or prove cold fusion, and it would be meh.

It's funny because it's true, as is the mental image of Cincinnati Bengals in lab coats, high-fiving one another after a successful Mars mission. They should've sent Cedric Benson to Mars. And then left him there.

Random thought that occurred to me after the 10 Seconds of Glory thing on Friday, and then listening to Weekend Edition yesterday: imagine if people could call the show--or any show, really--via skype or smartphone apps so that they would have a "clear line" to the studio. This would put the caller, if only auditorily speaking, on a level playing field with the hosts, and fundamentally change the dynamic of caller radio. Sure, the host could still hold or drop the caller as he pleased, but it wouldn't be one clear voice versus one tinny, distorted voice. I think it would be very interesting. They'd never do it.

Good show thread, early and in-depth.

Straw Men as large as Paul Bunyan will be attacked today.

I predict a really bad show.

For once they can actually preview & set the table for the Lions/Bears' game following yet more Lance Armstrong talk and the breaking news of the morning there:

10 Seconds of Glory is really just voice mail, right? I don't see what the big deal is.

It's part of the Audio Roadshow APP for those who have IPhones & Androids. It's not quite voicemail, but I don't have either an IPhone or an Android.

The Android app is in development thus it's not available.

Get some more bite and then report back.

Great job, CH. Not sure if I want to hear NFL talk. I'm still butt hurt over the Redskins awful D ruining yet another RGIII comeback.

I'm aware of that, which is why I said it's really just voice mail. Explaining in my post that it's part of the Audio Roadshow app was not necessary, and neither was your post.

So if a chicken-and-a-half can lay an egg-and-a-half in a day-and-a-half, how long would it take for a monkey with a wooden leg to kick all the seeds out of dill pickle?

Terry implying last night's game stunk because the ratings were not good. Doesn't Dan shout down callers who reference bad ratings? Why. Do. You. Care. How. Many. People. Were. Watching?

My transformation into SomeGuy is nearly complete.

Here's the Monday Game Plan:

*3:30P: "The Second Half"
*4P-ish: The SCORE/WBBM Newsradio/Bears Radio Network's Zach Zaidman-Live from Soldier Field; A Bad Field Tonight for Lions/Bears?

That's all they've got planned.

"Scoreboard Updates": Chris "HE'S BACK!" Rongey

The good news...NO LAURENCE HOLMES TONIGHT! In Laurence's place, the "Chevy Dealers SCORE Pregame" from Kenny's Irish Pub in Countryside hosted by Hub Arkush, Dan Hampton & Matt Bowen starts up @ 6P in advance of Lions/Bears at Soldier Field. While 780 WBBM-AM & 105.9 WCFS-FM has the hometown call on the Chicago Bears Radio Network, The SCORE's Connor McKnight & Joe Ostrowski host live, local sports talk starting @ 7:30P and ending around 10:45P-ish. As soon as Lions/Bears wraps, win or lose, McKnight continues to work the update desk for the "Horseshoe Casino Postgame" starring Doug Buffone & Ed O'Bradovich. Those 2 will be on until around 12:30A-ish leading into "SCORE Overnight" with Les Grobstein & Adam Harris until 5A Tuesday.

Odd point by Bernsy. While I also cant stand much of pregame bullshit, saying "what's the point of pregame" is a dangerous stance. What exactly will B&B be doing today, but basically previewing the game?

I think you just answered your own question. Besides, I've switched over to 'BBM right now...

Depends. If we're talking about an NBA game outdrawing an NHL game, then he cares a lot.

Yes, sir.

Dan is always going on and on about "stupid good ratings" and such when the NBA and NFL are brought. He will spend significant time on detailing how awesome and great they are for his favorite leagues especially when the NHL or Blackhawks are in the news.

Which one? Game 6 of the NLCS or the "Sunday Night Football" game with the Steelers & Bengals?

I don't disagree with Dan about the content of the pre-game shows, but some of the things he's talking about apply to B&B's show.

Grab-ass
Fake laughing
Fake conflict
More laughing at things that aren't funny
Nothing of substance said

Oh yeah. I find zero substance in pregame, therefore I don't watch. But like Illini guy said, it's basically what B&B will be doing today, with less zing.

Noone on B&B- especially with Goff gone - can dare match the Stu Scott sideline pimp walk, possibly the most ridiculous thing of the night.

Dan Bernstein on Friday : Don't ask me a thing about fantasy football, because I dont pay attention to it in any way.
Dan Bernstein today : If you're not on Twitter, youre not gettting fantasy football news firsthand.

I've never seen it before and will have to keep my eye peeled for it tonight. Is it sponsored? "The Stuart Scott Sideline Pimp Walk. Brought to you by...Skechers."
