Quote:
Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen said Tuesday his goal in the next few years is to become an NBA head coach, and he said it would be "great" if the team he coaches has Phil Jackson in the front office.

I predict (heyyy...) at least 40 minutes of intense psychoanalysis of Pippen, who will be referred to only as "Scottie," and Jackson, who will be referred to only as "Phil." Maybe some weird stories that prove how interesting basketball players are. Maybe even a few allusions to stories they're not allowed to tell us on the air, because that's good radio!

Also: literally every person who lives in Pennsylvania is a child rapist, so it's awesome that their state is being ravaged by Hurricane Sandy.

Listen or die.

He also predicted just 40 wins for these Bulls on their flagship station up the dial this morning. I think he said that before it was revealed the Pacers' Danny Granger will be out indefinitely due to a sore left knee.

By the way, say hello to Kevin Matthews for me. The Bulls are still confident, even with Derrick Martell Rose sidelined to a torn ACL, the Bulls can win the Central Division. That division still sucks!

I understand that but you weren't talking about the Bulls chances about winning their division you were talking about their win total. I believe they play the Pacers 4 times and Granger should be back for at least 3 of those matchups.

I don't know how long Granger will be out. The Pacers still don't impress me.

I don't know how well Scottie Pippen can coach an NBA team if he's unable to lend his players valuable bits of wisdom and insight.

If Scottie Pippen will be coaching anywhere, it won't be here. Tom Thibodeau will be doing his job for quite sometime.

So does Herb Katzenberg. I know that the NBA tips off later tonight with 3 total games and an NBA/TNT twinbill with Celtics/Heat & Mavericks/Lakers. I'm not sure how much time these 2 will discuss the Bulls and the NBA in general this afternoon.

Yeah, Dan and Terry go pretty light on NBA talk.

Here's the Tuesday Game Plan:

*3:30P: "The Second Half"
*5P: The SCORE/PFW/Dial Global Sports' Hub Arkush-How Did The Bears Win A Game They Should Have Lost to Carolina?

"Scoreboard Updates": Chris Rongey

Terry's "two favorite words", Laurence Holmes, is live at Buffalo Wild Wings in Elmhurst tonight @ 6P for the "Miller Lite Top Draft Show". The Bears' Charles Tillman joins Holmes @ 7P this eve, with "Ask Herb" @ 9P. Holmes' EP Joe Ostrowski has the latenight SCORE @ 10P this eve followed by Les Grobstein & Adam Harris with "SCORE Overnight" @ Midnight.

If that's not enough, Bernsy warns NCAA Coaches to "Take Notice" in the following column:

The CBS servers are down, but the CBS Sportz minute is still up. Travesty it is.

Only for E-mail, Bernsy said. Those Doug Gottlieb gems are coming up.

If memory serves...Wasn't the rumor going around that if Phil Jackson took a front office job with the Orlando Magic that Scottie would be involved in the coaching staff somehow.

I'm not sure about that, but I wonder if that was before the Magic settled on Jacque Vaughn as their new head coach...

Show should be outstanding today. No e-mails from Bernsy tribesmen offering awful thoughts or unrestrained praise.

I think all CBS Radio-related E-mails are down today. If you wanted to E-mail these 2, Mac & Spiegs, Laurence Holmes and others...Forget it.

My CBS FF league is definitely acting weird. Can't bring up any player notes or access the trade page. Weird.

It's my understanding the CBS servers are based in New York, and needless to say, they're down thanks to Hurricane Sandy.

This apologia for Emery's handling of the offensive line is fucking retarded. "Who is this imaginary offensive lineman that the Bears should have taken?"

Well, here are nine non-imaginary linemen who went after #19 overall last year: David DeCastro, Riley Reiff, Kevin Zeitler, Mitchell Schwartz, Cordy Glenn, Jonathan Martin, Jeff Allen, Mike Adams, Kelechi Osemele.

When Hub Arkush makes his regular Tuesday visit later in the show, Dave, he was down on Chris Williams, another offensive lineman whom he didn't think would make this year's 53-man roster.

My problem with Williams, now with St. Louis, was that he had back issues dating back to the year he was drafted #14 overall out of Vanderbilt. He was also terrible regardless if he played tackle or guard. I point the finger at ex-GM Jerry Angelo for not doing his homework.

Terry can't make a cogent football thought these days without "like Matt Bowen said" before it.

Post subject:  Re: 10/30: Scottie a Hottie Coaching Prospect?

And then they end a conversation about defensive line athleticism by saying "and that is why the Bears drafted Shea McClellin."

So to recap: the Bears need offensive line help, there was no possibility of improving the offensive line because the nine OL who went between #19 and #63 are "imaginary" (?), the Bears made a great move by instead taking a non-imaginary defensive lineman. That Phil Emery is some kinda genius, I tell ya what.

Oh boy, ICE talk!

That's the previous regime, we've all been through Angelo's misfires. This was this past spring - Emery's first draft taking McClellin instead of any of the above

Is it just me or can't the Bears draft the right offensive lineman? I'm starting to hear less than flattering things about current RT Gabe Carimi.
