I wasn't paying attention for most of transition? Why is Terry hurt? He sounds down in the dumps.

Jim Durham was his buddy on the Bulls beat.

Ahh, makes sense.

And for the record, I would choose Minute Man. He's crafty and quick.

And J.D.'s no longer with us. Hard to believe, he & Johnny "Red" Kerr, also at that basketball court in the sky, called Bulls' games for 18 years ending right after the Bulls' first NBA Championship in 1991. If Boers leaves early, it's understandable.

Here's the Monday Game Plan:

*NEXT: The SCORE/WBBM Newsradio/Bears Radio Network's Zach Zaidman-More Reaction to the Bears' Big Road Win @ Tennessee
*4P: The SCORE/Chicago Tribune/NF Post's Matt Bowen-X & O Breakdown of Bears/Titans

That's all they have planned...for now anyway.

"Scoreboard Updates": Connor McKnight

Terry's "two favorite words", Laurence Holmes, follows the guys as always @ 6P. 670 The SCORE also has the national broadcast of Dial Global Radio Network's "Monday Night Football" starting @ 7P. Unfortunately, we have to tolerate Jim Gray's pregame with his "partners", the Patriots' Tom Brady & the Cardinals' Larry Fitzgerald, from the Dial Global Radio Network studios in Los Angeles @ 7P. Dial Global's Kevin Harlan, Dan Fouts & Mark Malone have the call @ 7:30P from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Les Grobstein & Adam Harris have the EP Version of "SCORE Overnight" after the game until 5A Tuesday.

If that's not enough, Bernsy writes about a "Laugher" here:

Yup .... there's really no need to do anything short of having a vote of acclimation.

So are the hosts. Is asking the question what happens if Tillman misses punching the ball and hits the guy in the stomach that bad of a question? or will the rules committee review that tactic and possibly outlaw it? Only thing wrong with those questions are asking them to those 2 assholes. As they are quick to point out when they leave a caller on long enough to prove theyve been wrong about something , well what do we know anyway? we're just a couple of dopes on the radio why listen to what we have to say? Oh and Matty, you can jump right in on how dumb the callers are and make fun of their thoughts but I guess your bosses must think your sports thoughts are pretty fucking dumb too as you havent been able to impress them to the point were you have any kind of regular shift. I guess you dont have those aspirations though, you're content to be a lackey producer for the next 25 years . Keep up with those wacky sports minute parodies though , you'll be headlining at Zanies before you know it.

Bernstein is really being an asshole today. Big tough guy bully to the callers. Yes the calls aren't the best, but then why take them. He seems to really get off on belittling people. Let's just say Tillman happened to punch at the ball and nails dude with a liver punch. You don't think the other team isn't gonna go apeship. Dan reminds me of the little dweebs I went to high school with who became police officers to take out their frustration at being swirrlied and stuffed in lockers on the tormentors.

Exactly. B&B are fronting as if Tillman will NEVER EVER EVER EVER miss a ball punch attempt. It's not out of the realm of possibility. I don't think posing that question is asinine at all.

It's a dumb question because it's not illegal to put your arm or hand into the ball and if it was then the game of football would forever change. Every running back would run with his hands stretched out ahead of him and then get a penalty as soon as someone tries to knock it out.

If the ball punch becomes illegal, then offenses will abuse it.

If he misses, it operates under the same rules as if he misses a tackle and hits someone in the head.

What exactly are people saying/questioning about this Tillman thing? Why would the Titans be mad at Tillman for trying to punch a ball out? That is, why would the Titans be madder at Tillman for accidentally punching a dude in the gut rather than for purposely tackling him?

Does that stuff really happen anymore? I can't say I've ever heard of anyone I went to school with receiving a swirly or being locked in a locker.

Well I went to high school 30 years ago and dickheads were doing it then. I use to hear it happen while I was in a stall smoking my one hitter. :drunken:

So you're saying it is a penalty?

Your usage of throwaway, crutch phrases like "hard to believe" is infuriating sometimes.

Again, it's not hard to believe that they called games for 18 years. Why would that be hard to believe?

Needless to say, 18 years is a long time to call basketball games.

Well, I suppose 18 years is a fairly long time to keep a local broadcast team together. That's longer than Harry and Jimmy, Harry and Stoney, Pat and Ron, and I'm pretty sure Pat Foley and Dale Tallon. I guess it's remarkable, if not necessarily unbelievable. If you told me Jim Durham and Red Kerr did Bulls games together for 18 years, I'd believe you.

Yes, punching someone in the head is a penalty, unless you are Patrick Kane. I don't see why it's a concern though and why the rule committee would have to make all attempts to knock the ball out illegal just like they aren't going to make hits illegal.
