5 teams are set pretty much. Even if you think the Bears won't win the division, they currently have a 2 game lead for that last wild card spot. The 6 win teams are the Bucs, Vikings and Seahawks. Bears also own the tie breaker over the 5 win Cowboys cuz they beat them.

If the Bears and Packers end up as 4 and 5 seeds, either way, they would play each other in the WILD CARD ROUND. If we get the 3 seed, we'd play the worst wild card team at home in that 1st round.

Atlanta will have the one seed. SF looks to have the 2nd seed. So they get the byes.

Why is this in the Boers and Bernstein thread? And can you please tie some sort of racism into the playoff picture? You know, to stay in character.

How could the Bears and Pack end up as 4 and 5 seeds? One of them is winning the division which would put them as the 3 seed

No. There are 4 division winners seeded by best record (1-4) and two WILD CARD TEAMS (5 and 6).

Top 2 division winners get byes. Bottom two division winners play the 2 wild card teams in round one.

1st round is 4 vs 5 and 3 vs 6. (Bears and Packers could meet if they are either of these combos.

I don't think the Bears can win 3 straight playoff games to get to a Super Bowl with this O line but here would be the best chance to do so.

Meet the Seahawks or Bucs in the first round, advance to the 49ers in the 2nd round and then you face a bitch of a team in the NFC championship (Giants, Packers or Atlanta) where you hope this defense gets 5 take aways. Then to the Super Bowl where you'll need 7 take aways and 2 defensive TDs to win.

There. That's how it can be done.

Maybe because it's posted in the B&B section.

If there was an "NFC playoff picture" thread in the NFL or Bears section, I'm sure you'd get more discussion.

Have a great day.

That tie is going to hurt the 49ers. I think they will lose the 2 seed to either the Packers or Bears because of that tie. The 2 seed is going to come down to Dec. 16.

Just looking at each team's remaining schedules, they all have about the same degree of difficulty. Packers have 3 home games left, however. 49ers and Bears only have two. You're right. The winner of the Bears vs Packers game in 3 weeks will win the NFC north. Not so sure that winner gets the 2 seed.

As far as the 7-4 Giants getting the 2 seed, no way. Look at their brutal schedule.

Giants
@ Redskins
Saints
@ Falcons
@ Ravens
Eagles

In fact, if the Redskins beat the Giants next Monday night, I could see them winning the NFC East. They'll only be one behind them if they win.

Here's the Redskins schedule.

Redskins
Giants
Ravens
@Browns
@Eagles
Cowboys

are my calculations correct that if the Bears win the next two games, they clinch a playoff spot. Two wins would put them at 10-3 with three games to play while the teams leading for the last playoff spot would be no better than 7-6 with 3 games to play AND the Bears would have the tiebreaker.

That's not really brutal. The Eagles are one of the five worst teams in football. The Redskins and Saints are dangerous, but ultimately not very good this year. The Ravens have been struggling a ton the past couple weeks, pulling victories out of their ass. Amd I dont think the Giants are even slightly worried about going to Atlanta to play. They'll probably go 3-2, but 4-1 is just as likely.

Too bad the Pack couldn't get it done Sunday night, otherwise the Redskins would be playing for first this coming Monday.

Yeah. Cuz it would mean the Vikes and Seahawks could only get to 10 wins if we beat them both in the next two weeks. And we would have the tie breakers over both with the sweep of the Vikes and beating the Seahawks.

Although I guess the Redskins and Saints could both win out to get to 10 wins (not gonna happen). Not sure if we would have the tie breaker over them. We have it over the Cowboys.

A slight advantage Washington has are their wins over the teams they're fighting for the last spot (Min, TB, and NO).

The final NFC Wild Card spot could come down to the Packers or Seahawks. You guys know what they tie breaker is, right?

As far as the AFC, we might get a Peyton Manning vs. Colts matchup in the Wild Card Round.

The NFL is always full of good stuff.

That result would be a sweet belated christmas gift. Can you imagine the howling from those subhumans under that scenario?

The NFL and Packers fans don't want it to come down to that tie breaker. Everybody else in America wants it to happen. It would be awesome.
