It's Fire Everybody [Except Lovie] Day! Dan and McDoink will have French national anthems aplenty for us.

I expect a column full of tortured metaphors that will explain why Dan thinks the Bears have to fire Lovie but don't if they can't prove that it'll be better so they shouldn't but they might but probably won't.

Well, that would be a refreshing change of pace, wouldn't it?

I'm eagerly awaiting a caller speculating that the Packers threw their game against the Vikings in order to prevent the Bears from making the playoffs. I mean the Packers did beat the Bears twice in the regular season so it's statistically proven that the Packers would have a 0% chance of beating the Bears three times in one season. Fuckin' pussies.

Oh, I would bet anything that call will come and they will put it through just so bernstein can cream the poor goof.

"Look, dey hate us as much as we hate dem. Dey jus' wan-ed ta keep us outta da playoffs. Watch how bad dey beat da Vikings nex week."

It's kind of cool that Connor McKnight gets to co-host with the legend today. With all the breaking news and what not, this is a terrific showcase for him.

I'm not really into showcases for the update guy, hopefully just good conversation on the Bears.

Finfer: "We still have to talk to Dan Bernstein."

Buffone: "...do we have to?"

There were some great tales of Buffone/Bernstein acrimony lost to the board deletions.

Search function doesn't work! All I remember was a young, cocky Bernstein calling Buffone a dumb jock until Buffone put him in a headlock.

bernstein has already laughed off the suggestion that "a 90 year old woman" or her family had ANYTHING to do with this, for those of you keeping score at home.

also, lol.

Even if it's a bit, I need a re-hire Ditka call in the 4 o'clock hour.

Bernstein on with Buffone is funny. If Buffone was a caller to the show he would e ridiculed and hung up on.

It's pretty interesting to me that Phil Emery was literally told "You can't fire Lovie for one year" and then he fires him after one year and it's evidence that Phil Emery is in charge. I wonder what moves he's allowed to make one year from today.

Never explain. I knew what you were referencing. As long as I know the rest of the world doesn't matter.

More BS from Zaidman.

@ZachZaidman: Nugget/tidbit: Lovie Smith's winning percentage as NFL head coach: .563. Mike Ditka's winning percentage as NFL head coach: .560.

Maybe he forgot about his Superbowl win and 7 playoff births.

Ditka was just as much of a failure as Lovie. Only winning one title with that team is pathetic.

Not to mention that Ditka's winning percentage with the Bears was .631. Why should anyone care that Ditka was bad in New Orleans?

Connor McDoink is really reading from the Boers & Bernstein Producer-Turned-Co-Host Playbook. I've already heard Matt's "are we gonna talk about [dumb topic]?" and Goff's "Stick ta SPORTS, BernSTINE!"

One can never have enough Lebowski references. One can work on the delivery of said reference.

And, um, look, I was kinda hoping I didn't have to be the one to say it, but is anyone else noticing that The Community, as represented by Score callers, is not very happy about this move?

It's kind of cute to hear the kid Connor piggy back on Dan's disdain and disgust over the comments of the callers. Also a lot of nodding of the head to everything Dan says. Danny boy pretty much just steers young Connor on this ride.

That said, Connor doesn't go out of his way to lick Dan like Larry.

Dan is really working overtime to give Emery "A Real GM" designation.

I'd be curious to know where Silvy got his "This is a George McCaskey move" info.

Score callers are a poor representation of every group, not just The Community.
