Did anyone notice B&B kissing up to Corey Crawford? They seemed to take the interview very seriously like they were trying to grill him with deep journalistic questions. Was this a management move to get him on the show or are they really going to start talking hockey all the time like Danny Mac?

Hockey is back, it's a story. Chicago has a hockey team, they have a show on in Chicago. Easy math, no need to light the Beardown signal.

Dan asked the decent questions I'd expect of someone whose job it is to talk Chicago sports. Terry asked "what made you want to be a goalie" like it's something exotic on What's My Line? and not a traditional team sport position; he might as well have asked which kind of tree he'd be. You wouldn't have Kyle Orton on and ask what made him want to be a quarterback.

They had him on because the Blackhawks just placed what I'm guessing is a sizable ad buy and as part of that wanted to get someone on the air to talk hockey and remind a city that may have forgotten the Blackhawks exist that, well, the Blackhawks exist.

They did the same thing when they had Jamal Mayers on last season. It's a painful listen.

By the way, I can't stand this "hockey is back" slogan that the goofs at the NHL are marketing now; hockey never left, the NHL did.

The Mayers interview, as I recall, had the added bonus of Jason deeming him "not a real brother" and merely a white guy dipped in butterscotch, or something.

That's right the Wolves are currently in 12th place in their division.

AHL standings distinguish between overtime losses and shootout losses? Why?

Never noticed that. Not sure why either. They are both worth one point...perhaps that's a tie-breaker come playoff time?

That's my guess, but that can be done without listing four-column standings. The AHL is weird. I don't claim to understand it.

Danny sucks the cock of corporate sponsors, so "kissing up to Corey Crawford" was just foreplay.

Because when your power play is as horrid as the Wolves', you need to look for positives somewhere.

All the negatives are positives when you remember you're affiliated with Vancouver.

Agreed.

I do very much root for them to succeed when they are with the Wolves, but the second they get called up I want them to tear an ACL. Same issue when they play RockVegas. The mentality is "hope the Wolves whoop Pig ass, but PLEASE don't let anybody important get hurt"

It's a sad conflicted existence.

Maybe the web developer accidentally made a fourth column and instead of deleting it, they just said 'the hell with it' and threw in SOL in there? :drunken:

I'm in the same boat, my friend. I've been a Wolves fan since their inaugural season back in 1994 when they were apart of the IHL. My girlfriend can't comprehend that I can cheer for the players while in the AHL yet root against them once they get called up for Vancouver. It's simple really: cheer for the team, not the players. If that makes sense.

BTW welcome to the board, HipCheck.

Is Bacci still there on Ogden? That used to be the spot. Biggest fucking slices I ever saw.

I didn't hear it but asking about being a goalie isn't too bad. It's rough and I think it takes a special person to be one.

I still can't believe Bernstein lets his kid play.

Thanks, OKC. I've always enjoyed your YouTube collection.

You are correct, sir. They're still as big as ever!

They should have brought in Barry Rozner to do the Crawford interview.

"You know, Corey, you've taken a long time to really stick in the NHL. Would you attribute this to Dale Tallon being an idiot?"

we even have our first Wolves posts in the history of this board. Your devotion to truth campaign has seriously damaged your hockey sucks policing.
