It's not quite the kickoff of the 2013 "Bud Light 'Who Needs Two?' Tavern Tour" just yet, but the "Boers & Bernstein Show", sans Terry, will be broadcasting live on the road this afternoon. The man who usually executive produces this show, Matt Abbatacola, will be riding shotgun with Dan as the guys broadcast live from Once Upon a Bagel in Highland Park, 1888 First Street. The guys will actually have tickets to the Big Ten Postseason Tournament at United Center this March, plus a pair of New Balance running shoes from New Balance North Shore to giveaway between 1:15-6P this afternoon.

I'm sure there will be more fallout from Katie Couric's "interview" with Manti Te'o that aired yesterday opposite this show, along with reaction to Joakim Noah & Luol Deng getting selected to the NBA All-Star Game next month in Houston & the Blackhawks' thrilling OT win in Dallas last night among the topics on the table. They've also got the return of "Friday Fung" come 4P, too.

Apparently, the guys are going to discuss the rooftop owners and their latest proposal that could mean $$$$ in BOTH the Cubs & the city's pockets...After the break.

Abbatacola is such a WSCR-Approved Cubs Fan. "I don't care where they play! I don't care what it's called! I'd love it if the Cubs were marginalized in the fabric of Chicago to the benefit of the White Sox (if that means the Cubs might win)!" That's great. The Cubs do care, or they have cared, and they're right to care, because a great deal of their value is derived from being embedded in a neighborhood and offering an experience that you can't find in the structured, managed, team-controlled environments of most ballparks.

Vilifying the rooftops and restaurants for "making money off the Cubs that they could be MONETIZING!" is dumb. The Cubs make money off Lake View. That's how it works.

More than anything this is just about Dan wanting more lawyer porn. "There are Really Smart People going over contracts and negotiations and figuring out how to monetize oh god this is good."
