12 minute mark during transition

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/audio/988-the-boers-and-bernstein-show/

Boilermaker Rick brought this up in the Mac and Spiegs section. Thought I'd bring it to B&B fans. Don't yell at me. I don't want to hear it today.

Summary: Drinky made a wise crack about Spiegel being late for his show today. Spiegel got angry. You could feel that something was gonna happen. So Spiegel cracked back and said something like "Ok, drink, you live your life and I'll live mine...Part-timer!!" Drinky was stunned and had an "Oh no you didn't" reaction. Then drink said Spiegel was the most sensitive bitch at the station and brought up another episode where Spiegel made fun of his wife or something like that.

Yeah, BRick brought it up in another section but he totally fucked up the link and thus ruined everything.

Thanks for making it right, Beardown.

Brick explained it. You gotta click on transition and then scroll back to the top and hit play.

Post subject:  Re: Spiegel vs. Drinky (AKA: The part-timer)

My reaction to this episode. Drink didn't deserve it. Spiegel was mean and out of line. He was a little bit oversensitive. Drinky made a nothing comment and Spiegel totally insulted drinky. That was pretty mean.

These two have been going at it since Spiegel came back to the Score. I remember drinky did some fat jokes about Spiegel early on. There was once a "What have you ever done in your life" comment from Spiegel to drinky. Then some weird, tense moments when Drinky does updates for Mac and Spiegs.

CSFMB can insult drinky. Not Spiegel.

Drinky: Thanks, pal.

Beardown: You're welcome.

Drinky: Wait...Hey!!!

Drinky is very cocky and pretty much a punk. I can see how he rubs his co workers the wrong way. There is probably more to this drinky vs. Spiegel thing that happens off the air

But, like I said, drinky needs to be defended on this one. Drinky took a quick little jab at Spiegel. A soft blow to the body. It was nothing. All in good fun. And fuckin' Spiegel pulls out an assault rife and blows poor drinky away.

It was basically a "Go home and your shine box, kid. I'm a made man. You're not" comment.

Spiegs also broke bad on Mike Greenberg in yesterdays transition. Bernsie was surprised at how cleverly and hard he went at him.

Post subject:  Re: Spiegel vs. Drinky (AKA: The part-timer)

During that transition segment, Spiegel made mention that Drinky's wife and kid were at the remote. That makes it worse. To not only humiliate drinky on the air, but also in front of his wife.

Fuck you, Spiegel. That's low class.

Post subject:  Re: Spiegel vs. Drinky (AKA: The part-timer)

Drinky was jabbing a co-working with a timely, relevant and harmless comment about leaving early for work if you know its going to be bad on the roads. There is nothing wrong or uncommon with this. Even if there was already some bad blood its not that hard to exude a little class with the retaliatory response or just own it.

Princess Meat hit below the belt with his part-time comment. Publicly taking a shot at a guy's job status in defense is a dickhead move. It's not timely, relevant, professional and its about as un-classy as it gets. An equally classless response to him would have been to call him a 400 lb lazy fat fuck on the air and in front of his family. That's how not cool that was.

Drinky is never gonna make it as a full time talk show host. He's bad at it. That's clear. Drinky probably knows it as well. But Spiegel should shut his mouth. The only reason he has a show is because Mac got it for him. Mac made Mitch take Spiegel. Good for you, Spiegs. You have friends in high places. Drinky doesn't. No need to shove it in his face.

Beardown: Drinky, I give you permission to fight dirty. Do the fat jokes like UMN suggested. Eye for an eye. Spiegs drew first blood.

Goff: Careful, drink. My war got me shipped to fuckin' Atlanta. You can't win. I was naive. Don't make the mistake that I made. I Da Ma Naed my dumb ass off the Score for no good reason. I don't even know what the fight was about. Now I'm stuck in Georgia with this mother fuckin' Southern Mac. :(

hey beardown, I truly do like the cut of your jib as a poster, especially when it comes to "controversial" speculation regarding the soap opera that is "As Der Schnorr Turns" -- however, that stuff where you have hypothetical conversations between yourself and the hosts themselves is, as the British would say, "a bit much."

It just... ummm.... how do I put it? It's like you do your thing and make a compelling post/thread and get the conversation going, but then you go and feed your haters with the conversation stuff. It's kind of desperate and reaching, like you're hoping the guys at the station read it and can envision themselves having actual conversations with you, nevermind the whole anonymity thing you've got going on being a mult and all.

So in the ~35% chance that I'm not blocked by you, I offer the above as free unbiased criticism of your schtick. I know you're far too classy to respond, as I must have challenged you early on and as it's been proven all of your posts are 100% A Beardown Joint(TM), but still, the conversation stuff is just kind of weird and offputting, especially when you've tried so hard to be anonymous for so long.

As I hear it, the "part-timer" comment was referencing his absenteeism, largely due to taking time off for the birth of his child and not being around much, not him being a "part-timer" on-air host. Drama, always, drama...

He has made it known to all subs that they are below him, he is full time and they are just filling in during past shows. He was a dick to Goff about that plus Meat took off 2 or 3 weeks when his kid was born so it would be kind of stupid to rip a guy for something he did. I'm pretty confident he was referring to him being a producer and fill in or sub host.

Right. It was absolutley Spiegel flaunting his status over drinky. Trying to make drinky feel small for being a lowley producer with part time on air shifts. You're right. He did it to Goff as well.

Now, Goff and drinky aren't and weren't innocent victims. Drinky and Goff are both guitly of hiding behind Bernsetin's show to kill co workers through the years. They've taken their fair share of below the belt shots. They've done it for years. Drinky will continue to do it as long as he produces B&B.

Still, once again, what Spiegel did today just wasn't right. Not the time or place to say something like that. I think Spiegel enjoys the fact that he stepped over drink and Goff when he came back to the Score. I think likes rubbing it in their faces cuz he knows they both hate him for it.

This is the Score. They're really a bunch of high school girls when you really think about it.

That was awkward for no one but Speigal.

That was as easy of jab by Drinky as your gonna get and Meat just went for the jugular after it.

I hope Mac pulled him aside and slapped him straight.

As for the gum, well, it really doesn't work if you eat all the gum and then eat 4 racks of ribs.

He's right, though. The mentality of the average Score personality is the same as that of the kids who do performing arts in high school. At least I grew out of bitching that I didn't get trumpet solos for the Duke Ellington competition.

Spiegel's comment is also offensive to his own show's producers. Finfer and Zawowski are part-time on air talent as well. So an insult to drinky is also an insult to them. I wonder if Spiegel thinks about this sort of thing. Probably not. Spiegel seems like the type that only cares about himself and his little world. No consideration for the feelings of others around him.

I for one am shocked that Spiegel would be overly sensitive about being called out when he is arrives late or leaves early from an obligation.

Spiegal had a national show for about a decade before he came over to the Score. Mc Neil did bring him back to the station but Spiegal worked his way from producer to host to an outside job as host. That is probably why he feels superior to drinky. He was the drinky of the HFC but moved well beyond the position.
