I think Lily Allen has Beardown beat in the under delivery department.

Read this Sherman article again. Check out the quote regarding Harry. It was from somebody in Bristol. Not anybody working at the station. I'll bet that guy doesn't even know Harry. I'll bet Bristol told the Chicago management to not give quotes and to have reporters call Bristol. That they would give the quotes.

But it kind of tells me that the actual call to fire Harry came from headquarters. Not from the local management team. That's maybe why Carm and Jurko said they were shocked. I'll bet the people running ESPN 1000 were shocked that they were told to fire Harry.

Bristol knew about Harry's arrest, of course. I'll bet they were just waiting for his contract to bleed out to get rid of him. Once the ratings went in the tank it made it easier to pull the trigger.

The thing is, will Little Tommy Waddle want to move to the later timeslot. His reason for leaving WGN was the fact that he wanted to have more time to spend w/ his (now they've got to be middle-aged) daughters. W/ his current time slot, he's probably able to go pick them up after "school" (senior day care). IDK if he'll be opened to the change, but I'm very sure Silvy is ready to carry the rock & run w/ it on the station's flagship show.

You guys act like Waddle isn't an employee. Like he's some sort of king over there. Like all of his demands and wishes should be met. This is his main gig. He'll do what he's asked if it means keeping it. I don't know what the NFL network pays him for working one day a week. But I doubt it's as much as his full time job

Sure, everybody would like to pick their schedule. Waddle and Silvy were losing to Mac anyway. They're in no position to make demands.

Well, he could just quit. Unlike all of us bums, he wouldn't be hurting. He could find work much more easily. I can't imagine he's a dick like Murph, or a pariah like Nort, so I think he'd do fine by telling ESPN to shove it.

These 6-figure radio gigs aren't easy to come by. Is Waddle really a Chicago radio star anyway? No. What was it in January? Mac was 2nd and Waddle and Silvy were like 9th or something

I think Waddle is smart enough to realize it. It's not as easy as "I'll quit and get another radio gig in this city to fit my schedule." Where are these great options for him?

There are 2 sports radio stations in town. 5 local day-part shows that pay the good money with ESPN 1000 doing a national morning show. That's it. 2 night time slots that are basically part time cuz of broadcasting actual games.

You also take into consideration that Bernstein, Jurko and Harry have held down these limited positions for 12 years or so. Mac and Terry have held them down for about 20 years. Just to further emphasize how tough it is to break into these gigs.

Why does he need radio? He's got an in on Fox, & if Leary can get on air on NBC 5, Waddle could do sports broadcast.

He works one day a week at FOX. He's not an sports anchor. He's a commentator. They don't do "The Final Word" 5 days a week? Oh. So now somebody is gonna hire him to be a TV sports anchor even though he's never done it? Cuz he's the great Tom Waddle.

I guess a lot of you really think this Waddle is some sort of king that's in high demand by everybody to do everything.

Plus you initially said he doesn't want to work afternoons. Now he's gonna do nights 5 days a week?

I never said he'd work nights. I never said he'd be in high demand. I said if Leary could make the jump to TV Waddle could. I said he'd do alright & would find something that fits. All that other Jazz, high demand, working nights, that's all something else.

Well you suggested he can be a sports TV anchor. You do realize that would be night job, right?

Yes. I know you probably don't wake until 2 pm, but they do have newscasts during the day.

Not for sportscasters, you idiot. Who are the day time TV sports anchors in this city? There aren't any. Morning shows don't have sports guys. The midday newscasts don't have sports anchors.

yeah let's take a show that cannot beat the Score in the current set up and move them to another time slot and expect them to beat the Score.

 yeah that works

 Wrong, mojumbo. I'm sure Fox could use some filler for their hour of nonsense.

If not, he can pack up his 40 daughters & head out to CA. The NFL network awaits.

By the way, from Waddle's Wiki page:

As a broadcaster, Tom has a uniquely engaging manner of self-expression which has brought into being a set of "Waddleisms", which are phrases or expressions that are distinctively his. The following is a non-inclusive list of Waddle-isms:

Hot Garbage: How Waddle describes a particularly poor game or team. e.g. The Bears' offensive line is hot garbage. Synonyms: hot trash, hot vomit in a bag.

Go Pound Sand: How Tom expresses that he doesn’t care for the point of view being expressed.

Is Tom Waddle really getting credit for these?

He probably edit's his own page.

I hope they don't take Sarah Spain with them. I asked her on Twitter once if she and Waddle were fucking and she blocked me and then responded after "wow, talk about a lack of class", to which I responded "says the girl who makes penis jokes on the radio" but she probably didn't see since she pulled the chicken move of blocking me before tweeting me. And there she was again the other day making the word peanut sound like penis hahahaha, we're back in middle school again, can't wait for them to talk about inches of snow again so she can bring up her size jokes again hahahaha.

So Waddle and Silvy lose to Mac and Spiegs, so the idea is to put them up against BB?

I see a huge vat of whoopass coming.

B&B used to lose to Mac, too, if I recall correctly. Losing to Mac is nothing. S&W can beat B&B.

This is the one thing in this thread that Col. Angus has posted I agree with. Particularly since as Mac pointed out on yesterday's show, Jurko will be joining Silvy and waddle on the afternoon show that will face B&B.
