Dan Bernstein can't be wrong. Not losing 24 straight games didn't involved coaching, it was anything but that. It was a little luck, a lot of momentum, and an indeterminable amount of unmeasurables along with the impromptu dropping of the gloves.

Not sure if serious: one of the biggest triumphs of the season's first half was a strong commitment to lines and pairings that was interrupted only by injuries and ill-fated Dan Carcillo experiments. I thought there was merit to Q letting everyone work with everyone, but it's better to let groups mesh and stay meshed, I guess. Of course, we could be transposing cause and effect: did the Hawks win because Q stopped drawing lines out of a hat, or did Q stop drawing lines out of a hat because the Hawks were winning? At any rate, the future's bright, and it shouldn't take much more than a .600 pace to lock up home ice throughout.

Oh, and I wonder if Joel Quenneville's twinkling eyes are interesting enough to spend a night at the bar with him, just learning a tonne of stuff.

Why is this a thing? Of course a coach whose team has been in the spotlight so much recently is probably happy that this thing is over and they can refocus on the big picture.

Do we really need to compare this to the Cutler talk? Seriously?

Probably not. Like the thread title says, this is totally different.

Dave you are kind of a one trick pony around here. Any chance of you branching out beyond your hate of lil Danny?

I think he got a DUI after the Avs fired him. That certainly hints at some imbalance, arguably worse than the whimsical fantasyland of Dan Bernstein where he pretends that NBA coaches are so perpetually harried by everyday office drudgery that they read Kafka to cheer themselves up, and not, I dunno, doofy tall guys.

I'm not sure what your complaint is here.

The Cutler body language topic has to do with people speculating about what Cutler is thinking and how other people perceive him. I know in the past you have said this is a stupid topic to speculate on. That's exactly what Dan is doing with the stupid Q eye twinkle thing. That's all Dave is saying.

It is stupid. And so is reading/listening to every statement Bernsie makes in order to try and show he is full of crap.

Are you implying there's a better use of my time?

I stopped doing that when I realized Dave, Curious and Some Guy were better at it.

Trying to read eye twinkles reminds me of how the Toronto media covered Brian Burke and how "the twinkle in his Irish eyes" foretold the acquisition of, I dunno, Francois Beauchemin or something.
