After being abbreviated for White Sox afternoon baseball the last 2 days, "The Boers & Bernstein Show" is back at its regular time this Friday afternoon, and this time, not far from the home of the Sox either.

Today, the "Bud Light 'Who Needs Two?' Tavern Tour" brings Terry & Dan B. to Cork & Kerry at the Park, 3258 S. Princeton, not far from U.S. Cellular Field. The guys will have Bulls' tickets for one of the few remaining home games during this afternoon's live broadcast. Following last night's 2 point Bulls' win in Brooklyn, it's hard to say how much the guys will discuss the Bulls' road win, let alone HC Tom Thibodeau telling reporters at the Barclays Center before the game that Derrick Rose is "close" to actually returning from his torn ACL. The Bulls go right back to work this eve vs. the Orlando Magic, sans PG Jameer Nelson, who will not play for an Orlando team that's looking ahead to the NBA Draft Lottery next month. As for other potential topics:

*Blackhawks Lose in Shootout vs. the Blues; Goalie Controversy Brewing?
*White Sox Host Mariners This Weekend on The SCORE; Can The Sox Manufacture Runs?
*Cubs in Atlanta; How Much Longer Does Carlos Marmol Continue to Close?
*NCAA Final Four on The SCORE Saturday Night: Best Story?
*More Rutgers & Pac-12 Officiating Fallout

All that & a whole lot more after Mac & Spiegs transition with the guys at 1P.

You say this every time the Hawks lose a game. Are you Mike Keenan?

CH, there are Blackhawk fans that aren't sold on Corey Crawford, especially in the wake of last night's giveaway to the Blues in the shootout. I have more confidence in Ray Emery, and I wouldn't be shocked if Ray gets the nod in one of the 2 weekend games vs. Nashville, either tomorrow afternoon in "Music City" or Sunday night at the U.C.

The Basketball Hall of Famer was right out of the box from the Final Four city in Atlanta. As for the rest of the show...

*2P: New Univ. of Buffalo HC (Former Duke PG) Bobby Hurley
More Final Four Thoughts; Bobby's New Challenge

*3:30P: "The Second Half"

"Scoreboard Updates": Connor McKnight

There's no Laurence Holmes tonight come 6P. Holmes, Zach Zaidman & Nick Shepkowski are Atlanta-bound themselves as The SCORE broadcasts live from the Final Four tomorrow, Sunday & Monday. In Holmes' place, Chris Rongey has 35 minutes of "musings" from the Gold Coast Ticket Club at U.S. Cellular Field. That's also where Rongey has the White Sox Radio Network pre at 6:35P in advance of Sox/Mariners. First pitch at 7:10P. Joe Ostrowski has the latenight SCORE after Rongey's Sox Radio Network postgame until 1A Saturday. Amy Laurence & CBS Sports Radio programming follows "After Hours" from New York from 1-6A Saturday.

I was in NY this week and caught a lot of sports talk radio while driving around Long Island. Two main observations:

1) There was a lot of hockey talk, especially about the Rangers. Trade deadline and head coach stuff.
2) The afternoon host was talking about the Knicks and their playoff match-ups. After much discussion, the host said it would be a great season if the Knicks won two rounds, and then lost to the Heat. It would have been a fun and successful season.

After hearing this stuff, I thought what a contrast to B&B. You can actually talk hockey within the confines of a major market show and you can be happy without winning the championship.

Who was it? WFAN's Mike Francesa or ESPN Radio New York's Michael Kay?

Francesa wouldn't have talked about hockey.

"Look, the Ranjuhs aw...look. N'ywkay? N'ywkay? I, uh, I mea, ah, I know, ah... wait a second. Wait a second. N'ywkay?"

I am pretty sure it was ESPN, but I don't know the host's name. We listened all day, so it overlapped shows. One similarity is they beat that Rutgers story into the ground. It was Penn State-esque.

I watched that video and am not nearly as offended as the media. The guy is a jerk, but so are most basketball and football coaches.

Here in the burgh the Pens are as big as the Steelers and the Pirates fans still go to their nice ballpark without bitching all the time. I really think this anti hockey shit/there are only 18,000 hockey fans is a Chicago radio thing. For fuck's sake look at the Hawk's cup celebration parade.

Unlike here in Chicago, ESPN Radio in New York is now on the FM side. Might it have been Ryan Ruocco & the "Doctor of Thuggernomics" Stephen A. Smith, talking about the Rangers & the Rutgers' controversy on ESPN's "Outside the Lines"?

SHARK, I am not as informed on media matters as you are. There were four of us in the car, and I never caught the name of the shows. One of the guys was flying solo and was worked up about Rutgers. But the hockey and basketball thoughts were spot on.

Don't worry about it. He listened to hockey talk in New York and then he came home. All you're doing is demonstrating that you looked up some program schedules for the Fan and ESPN New York. It's not a big deal.

And yeah, hockey is popular in most cities it's played in, just not nationally. The whole "there are only x fans of the y and they're at every single game" trope applied to major-market hockey teams is idiotic. Then who's watching Penguins games in tens of thousands of households? THEN WHO WAS PHONE???

I had a coach sophomore year just like that guy. Threw basketballs at guys, swore incessantly, made off color jokes and racist jokes, was a racist. He went on to be the principal of the school.

Oh, and I met a Long Islander up here. I impressed her with my familiarity with Nassau County and Robert Moses. This is like the third time this has happened to me.

I'm impressed by Dan's ability to turn a discussion about the Wrigley renovation w/r/t rooftop owners into a snide celebration of lulz u guyses unions are sooooo dumb. Then he and Terry each assigned Karen Lewis a really icky and racially coded nickname.

Coming back and listening to this show again was a huge mistake.

The Voice Of The Chicago Sports Fan is critical of labor organizations whose members are, most likely, Chicago sports fans? Get out of town.

My first experience with sports talk radio occurred listening to WFAN while staying at a teammates house while on a trip to New York to play Fordham in rugby. The guy kept the radio on the entire night and even though I was drunk/exhausted, I was still immediately hooked on the format. Thank you Matt Di Frisco of Pelham, NY, wherever you may be.

My end of listening too. The strident tone was bit much, like what might be heard on a Murdoch owned station or Koch sponsored program.

Summary, please?

Maybe IBEW needs to buy a schedule. Then Dan couldn't talk bad about a sponsor.

This wasn't the article Bernstein posted.
http://wcfcourier.com/alford-brings-pierce-insults-to-big-ten-s-attention/article_e0cf66be-2704-5a9c-90f3-50a82d08265e.html

The officials stopped the game at Purdue when they were doing the same and we were warned there would be technicals handed out if it happened again.

Paraphrasing, so this may not be totally accurate.

"The Cubs need to break that union, because that's what they are. "

"It shouldn't be too hard. Look at how that particular part of our society is doing right now."

"Hell, look at the Chicago Teacher's Union. People hate them. They just won't stand for that kind of thing anymore."

"Is that really surprising, considering Jabba the Hutt is in charge?"

"You mean The Mudslide?"
