http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/04/07/ ... g-his-job/ Not doing his job? Thibs should tell him to. Bernstein encapsulated right here: Quote: Rose owes his bosses better, now. The Bulls have every incentive to want the best for his health for both the short and long term, and are taking the high road in allowing an employee to reject a team medical plan on his own whim. Does he owe it to his teammates to come back? Does he owe it to the paying customers? Does he owe it to NBA fandom at large? No. Derrick Rose is indebted to no man but Jerry Reinsdorf. |

Actually, his knee was trusted to the hands of Dr. Cole. If the time has come to stop obeying him and instead listen to some invisible sky-being, then he should have the latter repair the torn ligament next time. Do a laying-on of hands, light some candles and hope for the best. No more silly medicine for him like reconstructive surgery, if higher powers of healing have taken over the job. Translation Dont you EVER disrespect or disregard a DOCTOR, you understand me? YOU UNDERSTAND ME??!!! |

I know he won't but I sincerely hope Dan mentions this video, could be a master class in trolling: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Jmisv1S ... r_embedded "How does maudlin sentimentality get you closer to curing cancer?!?!?" |

Does Cris Collinsworth have a younger brother who calls Nebraska spring football games? |

He didn't have a very satisfactory answer. |

Bad answer. I'd rather believe he's being strongarmed from above into being the champion of the 1% he is today than to believe he has freely and willfully chosen to be Jerry Reinsdorf's attack dog (not to mention a general jerkoff). |

Just can't understand why Jerry has influence over him. |

I'm on the fence with Theo...I hate nearly every move he's made so far and yet...who else would I have hired? He's my first choice and my second. So while my heart says he'll fail miserably, my head says maybe he makes it happen. He'd better figure out how to draft pitching though, he's got none of that coming up. |

I especially like the part where he basically says "Why doesn't he just do what the rich white guys say??? Doesn't he realize they want what's best for him!?!?!?" And even that's couched in the language of "incentives"! Supply-side simp. |

Didn't bernstein have the same injury? If that's the case, how did he possibly get back to full strength on his leg since part of the rehab is playing in NBA games and- as far as we know- li'l danny never played in any. |

Just can't understand why Jerry has influence over him. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of internal struggle he'd have to go through if Jerry Reinsdorf wasn't a member of the tribe and subscribed to J Leman style voodoo practices. But to speak more to your comment, Dan didn't bow to the suits when DePaul tried throwing its weight around when the kiddie diddling stories first made waves. I wonder what changed. |

For the record, I agree that Rose is being really weird about this and really ought to get back on the court in some limited capacity. I just think he owes it to himself more than to his bosses. Also, can this finally be the end of the whole "Rose may be cleared by doctors, but there's one person who has to clear him, and that's Jerry Reinsdorf" misinformation? please? |

Well, I saw a video of him at practice on the news two weeks ago and he was still limping. He did put a move on one of the Bulls stiffs and hit a jumper over him. They celebrated like he just won the finals. I think he knows he can't go in an NBA game right now. And I'm pretty sure his knee will keep improving without NBA play. |

I'm starting to wonder if Dan ever would have become a Sox fan if they had been bought by gentiles. For someone who misses no opportunity to refer to Chicagoans as insular, provincial, and tribalist, his own sense of self-identity is roughly to the right of Herzl. |

His sense of Jewish self-identity also likely played a part in him marrying his wife which has had the unfortunate consequence of preventing him from breeding an NBA player. |

Why would he look better. He basically refused to stop making didling jokes and lost a job. The school didn't put pressure on him to stop talking about the subject in a serious manner. It just didn't appreciate the diddler jokes. This was before the serious radio era. |

Well many here hold that up as the peak of his career and laud him for not backing down. He makes it seem like they told him to flat out not talk about it. |

Here's the article, make of it what you will: "According to Bernstein, DePaul athletic director Jean Lenti Ponsetto asked him to refrain from making jokes on the issue and gave him a list of references he should avoid. Bernstein told DePaul he couldn't comply and the Catholic university decided to go in another direction with Gleason." http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2002 ... -satirical |

According to Bernstein, DePaul athletic director Jean Lenti Ponsetto asked him to refrain from making jokes on the issue and gave him a list of references he should avoid. Bernstein told DePaul he couldn't comply and the Catholic university decided to go in another direction with Gleason. Ponsetto recalls the situation differently. She said DePaul went with Gleason because he is a better fit for the school. During the last five years, Bernstein and Gleason split the broadcasts. According to sources, DePaul wanted to go with one person doing the games. I wasnt around for this and I dont know, but this always felt like an exaggeration if not outright lie by Bernstein |
