It makes perfect sense. But I'm certain that people are stepping up to help in some quantifiable way. People always do. It's funny how the people sharing thoughts and prayers are rather loud while the people making donations are rather quiet.

Yea, that's exactly what I mean. What if the broadcaster can't accurately or thoughtfully express their feelings on air? Or what if they don't feel comfortable or think a baseball/hockey/basketball broadcast is the appropriate forum? So they should totally ignore acknowledging the incident? Yes, "thoughts and prayers" has become boilerplate but to act offended and be a condescending shithead is unwarranted. As usual, he lacks tact and nuance.

I think it's always a good idea to extrapolate how a full baseball season will go based on 3 weeks.
