Seriously? I think this is stooping really low.
Of course, Dan doesn't like the fact the Chicago T-shirt company is pulling the items.
What is wrong with Boston Strong? Is Dan correct trying to connect this with Live Strong?
To a smaller degree, this is like selling an anti New York T-shirt circa Oct. 2001 if you're a D-Backs fan.

Don't you find the monetization of the tragedy to be more disgusting than the mocking of the monetization of the tragedy?

you make the t-shirts after they win the series, not after one game.

Is that what is truly happening. What percentage of monies raised from the Boston Strong items is going to charity. I didn't see this as blatant hawking of products to just turn a profit.
If that what is truly happening, than I agree with the former not latter of your statements.

I also thought "Boston Strong" was a May benefit for the victims of the tragedy.

I just am getting tired of Bernsie's attack mode on Lance Armstrong. I think this is kind of a stretch to go after Boston Strong based on its perceived relevance to "Live Strong."

I prefer the headline in the Tribune after game 1....

Boston Bombs in Game 1 Marathon

All I know is that when I went to the Red Sox v. White Sox game I saw people wearing so many variations of Boston Strong articles that it could not have possibly all come from a single charitable source. It didn't seem like the Bostonians even considered it a tribute to the event but more of another phrase for their teams like Cowboy Up a few years ago.

Interesting angle. Something to think about. Thanks.

Perhaps you should read the vendor's replybefore contuining to be angry at Dan.

If I can buy the shirt, I will now.

I'm not really familiar with the issue but it would seem that if it takes 117 paragraphs to explain the nature of the parody, then the target was missed.

I'm sure Krazy Ivan agrees.

Game one was proof Boston just can't finish marathons. Team had a lot of dead legs.

It's a little amusing that so many Bostons are hurt that someone is mocking "Boston Strong". I guess the second word isn't too accurate.

Post subject:  Re: "Chicago Stronger" T-shirts

fuck all of this #bostonstrong shit and the pussies who take to facebook to hang some "cubbies" using t-shirt making dolt out to dry. #bostonstrong is something along the lines of the orwellian IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH / WAR IS PEACE doubletalk where after the city was shown as an example of the power of DHS and one of its suburbs summarily locked down and whatnot, yeah, after that brazen display of power ppl start running around OMFG WE'RE #BOSTONSTRONG!!!!!!!

at least all the post-9/11 new york stuff wasn't a fucking twitter hashtagged catchphrase and all that, but still, running around and getting all offended like that and doing the contemporary american thing of whining on facebook about things you don't like is in full force..... but it only lends credence to those who say there's a contemporary pervasive mindset where everyone wants to be the victim in some way shape or form. so now you're not merely supposed to kiss the ass of anyone who was directly affected by that horrible thing, you have to kiss the ass of everyone from boston who, ironically, aren't being very #bostonstrong when they have to go and whine about people cracking a joke about it on a t-shirt they'll never actually see in their day-to-day life.

anyways, i'm off to start selling #chicagostrong t-shirts cuz we as a metropolis survived the horrible john wayne gacy killings, which killed more people than the boston marathon bombing, therefore we're 10x stronger because chicago is still here despite the catastrophic loss of ~35-40 ppl or whatever it was. stay #chicagostrong my brothers and sisters....not even a great fire can hold us down! that's the DHS' job anyways =D

This wasn't even an original thought by Cubby Tees. A Maple Leafs fan held a "Toronto Stonger" sign in the NHL playoffs.
Also, the company trying to use Freedom of Speech language and trying to compare tragedies to state their case is also quite laughable.
Does anyone really think the company was going to donate funds from the sales to a charity? I'll believe it when I see it.
The company tried making a buck, pure and simple, and they make themselves look even more foolish by stating the reasons for printing the shirt.
In the end, this will turn out to be a publicity score for the company.

I know. Its a bunch of Gary from Evanston's (and his constant watching of the booyahs looking for material) here, but without his charm.

No, the angry Boston fans look foolish.
