I wonder what Peaches and Herb fought about. Maybe we should "Ask Herb" about that.

He just referred to the third option as a "tertiary throw to be made". I am very mad about this.

write it down...Terry and Dan say that if the O-line stays healthy, they won't be a problem this year.

We'll revisit this little gem, I'm sure.

This is such a great show. Bernstein comes back and all he can talk about is Russia and their views on homosexuality. I'm sure the patrons of whatever establishment they're at are loving this talk. Move over Penn State and come on in Russia!

Sorry Dan, but homosexuality isn't "normal". Discriminating against gays is not good, but calling it normal is just crazy.

And then of course the Bernstein ass-licker, Schmutize has to chime in and parrot his idol's thoughts.

And during all of this, all Terry can say is "don't go...just don't go."

It's a shame when the broadcast media decides to take part in social issues like the acceptance of homosexuality because I'm sure most of them don't agree with it in the first place (they wouldn't want their kids to be gay), but they know that if they really say what they think, they'll get fired. So why comment on it in the first place?

wait...so Dan didn't watch the line yesterday...but now he did?

And again, you're basing your view on the line off of two preseason games. That's a no good, snuffy.

Agree it sounds bad when you say it that way. But you might be inclined to agree that it's not natural? If normal is defined as the prevailing characteristic, then indeed it's not normal.

I don't know nor do I really care.

Well, it could be, if their answer wasn't "boycott" because that's the answer to everything, just fucking quit and take your ball(s) home.

But the whole anti-fruit Russia olympics thing is so completely abhorrent that it certainly does merit discussion .... and again those two chucklefucks, were they to elect to, could hold a very decent conversation about the importance and ramifications and all the arguments involved in, with, and of the situation .... but my ass will sooner fly to Cleveland on the back of a lark, so ....... I lost my train of thought.

The media has everyone so afraid of telling the truth. If it was normal, then it wouldn't be talked about, and of course babies would be born out of rectums as well....which I'm thinking more and more is where Dan and Terry came from.

"Watch the genitals"...that's a good one.

But who gives a shit really. Why spend all day talking about it on a Chicago sports radio talk show?

I bet there's going to be one week this season where, absent anything interesting to break down, call out, or hype up, Dan just does the ultimate phone-it-in and we see the headline "Bernstein: It's Time to Let Go of 1985."

Isn't that the theme of a column every year, CH? The one at the beginning of each year where he teaches us how to be fans and how to watch football. Themes include -

-the line play thing
-your opinions doesn't mean more because you go to the game
-Butkus was a better Saturday morning kid show actor than a football player
-Bear Weather
-Ditka was history's greatest monster

...you know, that whole article.

the difference is this year they're trumpeting the OL. I'm really surprised by this and it's going to come back on them. Inevitably Cutler's going to get sacked a ton this year again and pressured, and now they've flipped the narrative as though Cutler has a team of in-prime Orlando Pace's in front of him.

Stephanie Cubsfan posted to Hey Buddy. Boers and Bernstein are my heroes.
We wouldn't be punishing Russia by not participating they'd love to get more medals. Just liked Carter robbed the athletes in 1980 for political reasons Obama would be robbing the athletes. Russia loved getting all the medals in 1980. And many gay athletes have come out in support of the athletes including Greg Lougainis.

DUDE I t's not about "punishing" them Steph. It's about saying that we and hopefully other modern day thinking countries don't need to be part of your backwards thinking. Hopefully if President Obama does make this call than others will follow suite. Let them win all the medals.

Stephanie Cubsfan And there is no way you can support a boycott of this Olympics and not boycott any ever held in a communist country unless you think killing people for saying the leader is ugly is okay.
58 minutes ago · Like

DUDE So if we've made mistakes by participating in the past then that prevents a country from doing the proper thing later?
53 minutes ago · Edited · Like

Stephanie Cubsfan To clarify I don't support Russia in this but I support our athletes who have worked their entire lives for this. It's easy for Dan Bernestein and such to call for a boycott.
54 minutes ago · Like

DUDE Too bad.... If they can go over their and "flag wave" and say how they are doing this for our country and for our way of life then they should also support those thoughts by not wanting to participate. I'd have much more respect for each and everyone of those athletes if they said "Yeah, I've worked hard for this but what's right is right."
51 minutes ago · Like

ANOTHER DUDE I think each individual athlete should decide whether they go or not. Leave the politicians out of it.

THIRD DUDE Hey guys, sticking up for basic human rights is less important than bobsledding, also in case you didn't know I am the groups resident Conservative so here is an unnecessary jab at a Democratic President.
47 minutes ago via mobile · Like · 3

Stephanie Cubsfan Jamie I think that's a great way to meet in the middle.
45 minutes ago · Like

Stephanie Cubsfan But if you boycott this you should have boycotted Beijing. They commit human rights violations every day to everyone.
44 minutes ago · Like

ANOTHER DUDE Some Muslim countries don't have the greatest track record when it comes to dealing with gay people. Where is the outrage about that.
42 minutes ago via mobile · Like

COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DUDE First off, if you are insinuating that Russia is communist then I would like to let you know that the Cold War ended. We won. Not to mention I think an athlete who worked his whole life to get to the Olympics doesn't want to go to the games just to get arrested. Secondly, if we as a country or western society as a whole are going to uphold ourselves as right or civilized then we defend basic human rights. We fight for those who can't fight for themselves. Lastly, if as Larry said above, because we have made past mistakes in not defending human rights doesn't mean we skip it this time. If we as a society advocate for gay rights here then we must advocate for them on the world stage. To do otherwise would be hypocritical.

Stephanie Cubsfan dO YOU GUYS realize that if we supported boycotts of Olympics because countries have done bad things we'd never have one!
38 minutes ago · Like

COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DUDE And the problem with that would be.................?
37 minutes ago · Like · 2

Stephanie Cubsfan I was for the boycott until some openly gay athletes have come out against the boycott. They know more than any of us the work involved and the struggles of being gay.
37 minutes ago · Like

Stephanie Cubsfan I know Russia aint communist. Im saying if you boycott for human rights no way could you ever play where a communist country is.
36 minutes ago · Like

COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DUDE Not to mention we've hosted them. And Canada. Great Britain, Australia, Japan, France, Italy, Greece, basically most western European countries.
36 minutes ago · Like · 1

KEEPING SCORE Stephanie, were you on the debate team in HS? Such strong, solid, coherent arguments you present.
35 minutes ago · Like · 2

COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DUDE It doesn't matter about what the athletes say. It is setting the example for the rest of the International community. I don't give a crap about what the athletes, gay or straight, say. Most of them are doped up cheaters to begin with. If we call ourselves the "city on a hill" or the "leaders of the free world" then we should act like it.
33 minutes ago · Like · 1

YET ANOTHER GUY "It's easy for Dan Bernestein and such to call for a boycott."

Much like its easy to use the "b b but they worked so hard!" For an excuse to ignore simple human rights for people who are simply born gay.

Stephanie Cubsfan John you are making my point even more in a way. But nothing comes close to what the communist countries do to their own people.
3 minutes ago · Like

Stephanie Cubsfan Another thing its REALLY EASY for us to say these things since as far as I know none of us are Olympic athletes.
2 minutes ago · Like

Stephanie Cubsfan Notice how so many things the people calling for others to do something they never have to do it themsekves. Whether it be boycotts or pay higher taxes or whatever. Easy for us to ask others to do something.
