Quote:
According to reports, the "Madhouse on Madison" sign located near the stadium's 300 level seats has been taken down, but has been preserved to use again in the future.

Bulls vice president of branding and communications Susan Goodenow said the sign was removed as part of an initiative to improve fan experience. In its place will be a LED signage system meant to heighten in-arena entertainment and messaging.

Or, in other words, more advertising. But then I guess if you're Dan, more advertising does improve fan experience.

I thought the Madhouse sign was kind of lame and clunky, personally, and it's not like you'll see the new videoboards during games, so whatever. Just be honest about it, though, you know? Don't spout off some p.r. bullshit about "heightening in-arena entertainment." You know what heightens in-arena entertainment? Having your best player unafraid to dress for his team.

If there's no show today because of a Sox game, whoops.

You know, I'm not sure the modern man can distinguish between what's advertising and what isn't. Corporations have convinced him to wear their name on his chest and enjoy paying for the privilege of doing so. And those Melman kids? They're just so damn funny. I can't wait for dan to bring them in again!

This post is brought to you by Chicago's Big Ten team.

Always found the Madhouse on Madison references during hockey games to be awkward at best. Its really becoming more like the over-priced beer night on Madison, or Wrigley Field 2.

The place isn't even the Madhouse on Madison. The stadium that bore that nickname was across the street.

This board was needed last year. Anything to not pay attention to the Bulls game would've been greatly appreciated.

More Dunkin races the better.

I'm not really a fan of the Madhouse thing either. There's not much mad about it, not at a place where the so-called great Hawks crowds are utterly deflated when it's 1-0 halfway through the first, and where Bulls games have been tastefully polite affairs for years now.

This is where I don't enjoy Bernstein at all. He is making something out of nothing. The fans stood up and clapped for a guy for about 5-7 seconds before his at-bat. No one got crazy. There wasn't some 10-minute Hulk Hogan circa 2001 standing ovation. Some people cheered because they respected a guy who just yesterday was a Cub. Big deal. Nice little moment. He's totally blowing it out of proportion. It wasn't that crazy of "an ovation." It happened, and then I already forgot about it. This is where I just think he is an asshole or has to do something stupid to make a radio segment. Either way, dumb.

When did Ernie Banks turn white?

I think "Mr. Cub" was pretty well-liked.

I guess Shawon Dunston can't be my favorite Cub anymore unless he gets vitiligo.

I was about to go there, but they said ""Every over-loved Cub is a white guy."

So I think they are thinking about white guys that actually don't deserve as much love as they get in their opinion: Mark Derosa, Kerry Wood

I'll stick with Shawon Dunston. He's over-loved.

I'd kiss him square on the mouth. That's how much I love him. And he doesn't deserve that.

Actually isn't DeJesus a "white-hispanic"? Maybe they need to make fun of this because there is jesus in the name.

Fans generally liked Soriano. Oh wait, that's right, Race Arbiter Dan Bernstein said Soriano wasn't black.

They phrased it as to say being white is why they were overloved. That is not true.

The funny thing in all of this is the thing that will suck the most on Danny's show today is when they bring on the one thing he keeps pimping as if we give a shit - Hub Arkush. Most likely, that will be when I finally punch the button. He's the absolute worst. His inside info is shit. His insight on the game is usually way off the mark or painfully obvious. I believe Arkush to be the worst "expert" guest in all of radio. Hub being pimped as some NFL expert is far more stupid than an ovation for a former player.

I'm assuming it was Dan's son who said that? I'm surprised he didn't say it in Mandarin.

Sounds like it's been a fantastic show today.
