I've listened to three minutes of transition, and I already wish I'd never been born.

Enjoy.

This must be why, even when I am "listening" to this show, I tune out so often ... must be a defense mechanism.

Now when I hear the by-cracky trombone, I do laugh no unlike the proverbial Pavlovian dog, which is nice.

LOL @ Dave .... "Dale fucking Bowman" .... sounds like you're borrowing a riff from a movie or tv line or something .... enjoying it way more than I probably should.

Oh, I could see that.

I figured he was talking about Trestman. That would have been silly.

This is probably my favorite concept avatar, if I had to go back and pick one.

Wow, what a clip from Ditka this week. What's wrong with him? Ultimate WYC all week after he visited Bears camp. Maybe the show should retire WYC. You can't top that.

"It's not about the money you make," - Mike Ditka, who endorsed just about every product ever.

Why can't he feel that way?

Maybe he's sharing his perspective as somebody who did make it about the money he made. Who better to make a statement like that?

OK. So if he made it about the money he made, then he's lying.

I don't know if he's lying or not.

But, it certainly is plausible that the guy looks back at how he did some things and wishes he'd done them differently.

How a hockey dad can spend so much time bashing those who play football perplexes me.

Did someone say football is the only way to learn life lessons? Why does this bother them so much?

Ditka spouted some motivational-seminar boilerplate about how playing football isn't about money, but rather about the experience of victory and the forging of lifelong relationships. The counterargument, best as I could gather, is as follows:

1. Of course football's not about money. That's true of every job! You don't remember the money*, you remember the people.

2. No one ever remembers the people, though, because you get new teammates all the time.

3. Why even bring Tomatoface in to say this? Who's he arguing against? What idiot ever said playing football was about money?

4. By the way, playing football is totally about money.

5. And why does everyone always say the relationships they make in football are more important than other ones? Quit mythologizing the organized destruction of brain tissue. Football is stupid and meaningless and teaches you nothing. After the break: we learn all about the BEARS with Zach Zaidman!

Then they talked about how disappointing it is that Northwestern football has a motto, because they're soooo good at football already and their players are soooo much smarter than everyone else's jeez why does anyone need a stupid motto just block and tackle it's not like these are a bunch of dumb 19 year olds or something

*I was disappointed that this was not followed by "you remember the monetizing."

"We're soooo good at football already and our players are soooo much smart than everyone else's" is MyName1sMUD's motto.
