JESUS, no, not alright! I think it's a shame that he decides to burn calories on stuff like the WYC? intro, one thing that is NOT broken! I didn't care for the "updating" of the audio, let alone him absolutely whoring it out as he's done. Listening to it live, I was hopeful that all of the new stuff was simply a lead into the classic intro...untouched. But, no, it's not. The (expected) ball washing over it, afterwards, made it that much worse for me - it'd be a fine intro for a new segment, but part of the (whatever remaining) charm that the segment has, WAS the intro. Sad that the first post on this was a positive one. "Keep it" |

I like it. Just because the old one was old, doesn't mean it was irreplaceable. I think as long as you leave the Ditka/Boers interaction in, which Tanney did, it's fair game. Ditka/Boers is what birthed the segment so it's off limits. But the songs are just songs. There are a million songs that reference lying in the chorus. |

The old open was old and bad, and poorly thought out and edited back in the day - but since it had lazy longevity, it hung around as long as it did. If they wanna bring back the old Friday open every once in a while, however... |

My immediate thought was that I didn't hate it. Thought it was OK. Which probably means I'll really like it in a few weeks considering I'm old and I don't like change. |

I always thought "Policy of Truth" by Depeche Mode would make a good WYC theme song. If only Tannehill could replace Steve from Bolingbrook. |

I'm always amazed at how people absolutely love or hate a song the very first time they hear it. I generally need a good 5 to 10 plays before I finally "feel" how I really think about it. I think so. If I don't hate something immediately that means it will probably be my favorite song in a week or so. But, I know what I hate right away. Hi, KS! |

i gave it a listen.... wasnt that impressed. It was 30 seconds too long... and the constant changing of songs was annoying. he would have been better off just keeping the old tune and adding the funny drops over top of it. |

The segment really does just suck. People are more interested being grammatically correct than having good content. Instead of vitriol we get guys worried about a broadcaster who says climate instead of climax...and giggle from the two guys who broke this segment. |

As you say, we never get the guy who just yells an angry WYC at somebody in about 2 sentences. It's always - a) Recap of quote typically with bonus smarm at the mention of whoever's name it is b) 2-3 paragraph commentary on said person/quote with minimum 3 cultural references and 1 word that needs to be looked up in a dictionary c) Holier than thou conclusion So, good dolphin, I've got 2 questions for you - - Why do 80% of the crappers finish with "I've got 2 questions for you" and - I don't remember the other one. ? |

Yep, well said, the smarminess is unbearable. Between this segment, and the Big Doug segment, my ears want to bleed. I get the feeling that all the Regular "Crappers", meet up on Thursday nights and congratulate each other on their "great craps". Critics at extra large was much better. The funniest part of the whole thing is Boers getting busted by Da Coach, and then Boers trying to back down, and deny it. Ha! Called out by Da Coach! |

What happened to Unemployed Lawyer? Granted, I don't listen to WYC religiously, and he may still call in, but I haven't heard him lately. |
