I stopped listening around 2005. Are these segments still around? |

Since the show stopped evolving around the time Terry was embalmed in 2005, I think it's safe to assume all the old, tired segments are still around. The show still has good moments. However, it's become far more misses than hits. |

They're around when Friday Fung is, which is increasingly rare. Too bad, as Friday Fung was one of the biggest reasons for my love of the show. Daredevil or Dumbass I could take or leave, but Mundane Sports Achievements always had some great storytelling. |

I think what made Mundane Sports Achievements work so well was that every story, no matter how ridiculous, had to end on a high note -- it wasn't Mundane Sports Failures, after all. With Daredevil or Dumbass, you'd always get a string of calls that were just "and then I got hit in the balls," such that Dan or Jason would have to say "apparently this has become Tales Of Getting Hit In The Balls" or something. It was cool when they were able to devote half an hour a week to off-the-board stuff like this, even during the holiest of holy BEARS SEASON. |

I never did like Mundane sports achievements. My favorite was always Live Ringers. |

I think I may have told the story here before, but it involved a 6th-grade Furious boldly proclaiming to a group of friends that I was going to kick a basketball and hit the girl at the other end of the playground in the head. I'm talking like 50 yards. I was a soccer player and could always punt the ball high and far. So I kicked the ball, figured it would be close and it seemed to take forever to fall out of the sky, but I dropped her. What else do you do at that age to a girl you have a crush on, other than something mean? |
