Post subject:  10/7 - The Cubs have a blank check for Girardi

Since there's no proper b&b showthread, I gotta make one to point out my !!! at insider Dan's proclamation that "money is no object" for the Cubs, who are going to spend whatever they have to spend to get Girardi. This was explicitly not brought up in transition for some odd reason...

So yeah, let's hope that those damned teenage kids don't screw things up for the Cubs. The $35mil daddy can remind them that down the road they're only going to keep up with ~5 people they know right now anyways.

I was sure Bernsie just attributed a Tweet to Gabe Kaplan instead of Gabe Kapler...but I relistened and he didn't.

Damn. Comedy avoided.

Kaplan is probably sitting in some Reno hotel right now hoping somebody lends him a grand for the next poker tournamant.

#Cubs still waiting on Girardi, who really is weighing his family's feelings in his decision. Cubs can offer more $, but it may not matter.

Shouldn't the really smart people running the Cubs have taken this into consideration?

I had to second source that to make sure it wasn't fake. That's the dumbest contribution I've ever heard of.

I'm going to pay off the country's debts in the name of Dr. Ken's and His Army of Mults President of the United States Barack Obama.

Northwestern must have borrowed the Score's sales department, who made sure that whining about how hockey is stupid is brought to you by Bud Light: Here We Go!

That must be another one of those Northwestern disadvantages. How can they compete when they can only get $16 million for a sponsorship of the athletic director?

It would be polyorgasmically evil if colleges started selling the naming rights to roster spots and still didn't pay the players. I'd change my position if that happened just for the privilege of aligning myself with a meteor shower of fuck-you.

Somebody literally just called to ask (paraphrasing), "Dan, have you been right all along the last few years about Julius Peppers?"

The answer was YES.

What does this even mean? What has Dan been saying "all along" about Peppers?

That if Peppers isn't playing well, the D isn't good.

Why does someone bother to make that call?

Since the Bears MLB seems non-existent,go with 3 safeties and have better coverage.

Nobody repackages the stupidly obvious as the sublimely profound like Dan Bernstein.

adam hoge is a trooper. not only did martellus+wifey show up ~10mins late, but they spilled over into the post-update segment, which means that the hoger started at 5:47.

when the closing music kicked in hoge was still rattling off information for a good ~15-30 seconds b4 terry shut him down and got into the closing ritual. you'll never be able to shut down adam motherfucking hoge when he's got information for you!

Did they recover some of his segment time by cutting the intro for Adam Hoge that just consists of Big Voice saying "Adam Hoge" over and over? Never let it be said that Chris Tannehill doesn't produce.

painful to hear dan talk about the mcdonalds commerical. obvious it wasnt cgi, their lips werent moving with the words. clearly just voice overs of what it looks like theyre saying. if that was cgi it was really bad cgi, and even worse joke writing. and dan acts like aliens did it. what an old fart

How was the Martellus Bennett show? During the little bit I heard he was talking about ice cream and how he supposedly grew 6" overnight when he was a kid.
