I was out of the country. What did I miss? Any additions to OKC's YouTube channel?

The only thing worth mentioning is the cat fight Bernstein and Spiegel had during transition.

Daniel, if you are going to lambast a player for saying something stupid. At least know who you are talking about.

They must be trolling for bad calls again and Drinky is letting them through. Sounds like I'm missing a great show today.

actually, today they've kind of gravitated to this "be nice to callers" stuff which I would think would defeat the purpose...

How do you guys feel about their weekly segment with Martellus?

I end up switching over to W&S with Cutler. It's usually way more entertaining. The Martellus stuff seems forced. "Here is our black friend we have on to be funny. Now dance, puppet, dance!"

Those were my thoughts after he joined him for the first time. But I must say, his Columbus thoughts were spot on.

Their chuckling at Martellus' wacky banter is in no way different than when the beat reporters laugh at a whatever Cubs/ Sox/Bulls/Blackhawks/Bears coach attempts to make a funny. They seem to have a lot of disdain for them when they do it though.

Most of the time when he's talking about or explaining something it sounds like they're talking to a kid, or to Phoebe from Friends.

His thoughts on race are interesting. Today he said that there's a lot of prejudice and bigotry in the United States, but earlier when Dan asked him what he though of the name "Redskins" he said "It don't bother me."

As I said in a different thread, I almost feel bad for Leery having to make conversation with him for an hour and half. Aside from his random "wacky" nonsense he doesn't seem to have much to say.

I prefer Bob from Niles over this guy. At least Bob from Niles is genuine, this feels forced as hell. Just another athlete trying to be the funny, insightful guy.

Or he could be just miscast. 670 thinks he's sufficiently eccentric and interesting, then decides to give him a show based on scant evidence from his Twitter feed.

The Score needs to give Hochberg his own show. Now that would be fun.

Really smart people did the math. Listen to your doctors. It's not the concussions. It's the repeated blows to the head by big black studs who are dong whipping inferior human stock. And members of Human Stock. Monetize the big boy child rape sponsored by Team One Step and Children's Oncology Services. GO CATS!

The difference: Very. Important. Radio.

And Danny and Terry aren't reporters. Reporters have VERY. SERIOUS. JOBS. They are radio talk show hosts. (please ignore the fact that Danny tries to report news (Gerardi)...it doesn't fit the narrative).

Boers & Bernstein giggle like little school girls when Bennett is on.

I really enjoy it.

I don't understand the criticism here. Bennett is just playing a bit and doesn't take things too seriously.

It's sports radio. This isn't the United Nations or a courthouse. You can just enjoy something at face value.

Post subject:  Re: 10/14: I Haven't Listened in Two Weeks

I haven't heard the segment but from what I've read here I take the criticism to be not of Bennett himself, but rather of B&b treating him as if he is an oddity like a trained seal instead of just a mildly amusing human being who also plays football.

Yeah, it's how Dan's voice goes into that weirdly patient tone that he otherwise uses for addressing callers who are obviously deranged or demented. It's icky.

And of course we have dan's well-established racial views as context which makes it even more icky. Correct?
