After the 1st hour of listening I am done. The show is too predictable and recyclable. There is nothing new I learn from this show, but old arguments that are so beyond PC. They are not edgy at all and add no sports value. Today was the Redskins, etc debate. Of course ultra liberal Dan and Terry who I guess now is simply Dan's yes man agree with. Then lets trash the townies who don't live in Chicago metro as racist hicks. I have come to conclusion they are just two extremely miserable human beings. I will continue to listen to other Score personalities, but Waddle and Silvey at least are informative and have class. |

Redskins’ Kyke Owner Refuses To Change Team’s Offensive Name WASHINGTON—Denying widespread claims that the franchise is being offensive or disrespectful, the Washington Redskins’ kike owner announced Monday that he remains steadfast in his refusal to change the team’s derogatory name. “The Redskins represent 81 years of great history and tradition, and it’s a source of pride for our fans,” said the hook-nosed kyke, stressing that the team’s insulting moniker is “absolutely not a racial slur by any means.” “‘Washington Redskins’ is much more than just a name. It stands for strength, courage, and respect—the very values that are so intrinsic to Native American culture.” The shifty-eyed hebe went on to assure fans that he will do “everything in his power” to preserve the team’s proud heritage. |

Is the "Native American imagery must go" narrative a daily topic now? |

If you don't like the topic(s) in which they are discussing, you can always call the show and I'm sure they would be okay with discussing whatever your heart desires. |

Yes Dan is waaaaay to liberal, he is your typical limo liberal, I remember him saying to the affect, "I live in Chicago and it is great in my neighborhood where I can see all races." Kinda like "I have a black friend comment." Doesn't need to be said. I am one of those dump independent people who has no party affiliation and sees things as they are and don't follow a party line. The reason why I am dumping the show is first and foremost the sports coverage and knowledge is horrible. I don't even think Terry watches or has an opinion anymore on sports or anything. All Bernstein wants to do is cover his talking points: gay, native American, racism, demeaning country folk, etc. Its just recycled and has jumped the shark. |

Quote: From: FIRST YEAR ASSOCIATE Sent: Friday, May 15, 2009 3:16 PM To: Robert Raskopf; Attorneys Subject: RE: Washington Redskins Victory okey-dokey. this email is meant neither to rouse some rabble or down some debbies or outcrunch some crunchies. quite the opposite – i get excited whenever i get victory emails (and even replies to victory emails). this is/was an interesting case that i know (well, i guess i don’t know, exactly, but i think) turned on issues not related to whether or not native americans were being slighted by the redskins mascot. but i feel compelled to the point i’m willing to write (and i’m from iowa so imposition is a slow, agonizing death) with a request that we might take a moment (water fountain break, going to nelly and claire’s shop downstairs, getting printouts) to think about how many people (native americans, americans, non-native americans, non-american natives) are bummed today because a mascot they find offensive remains on the second column of the sports page and on a kid’s hat and on espn’s score ticker (and, to a lesser extent, on cnn headline sport’s score ticker). obviously in writing this email, my end position on this matter is pretty clear, but i still, at times, try to make sense of whether or not the mascot is /that/ offensive or even that important an issue to fight. in saying that, i’m just saying i’m willing to chat about it to make sense of it, and i hope others are as well. and i’ll leave on something cheesy: it’s incredibly humbling and gratifying to work at quinn, but i really hope america’s firm will be native america’s firm as well. (that’s soooooooooooo dorky, but eh.) earnest congratulations on the win, for reals, and i hope everyone has a fun weekend! (SOON-TO-BE FIRED?) FIRST YEAR ASSOCIATE Quote: From: PISSED OFF QUINN PARTNER Sent: Friday, May 15, 2009 12:46 PM To: (SOON-TO-BE FIRED?) FIRST YEAR ASSOCIATE Cc: Robert Raskopf Subject: RE: Washington Redskins Victory FIRST YEAR ASSOCIATE: We have not met. I am in the NY office. I sit down the hall from Bob. Calling Bob out in front of the entire firm is a poor use of the “reply to all” function. Note the lack of any parentheses in this email. It makes it much easier to read. Bob and I represent clients, not causes. We like Native Americans. If Native Americans had hired Bob, the Redskins would have lost the case. But they didn’t. They hired someone else. So it was incumbent on Bob to kick their ass in court. It is really that simple. But I digress. The real purpose of this email was to suggest that you made a mistake by sending your email to every lawyer in the firm, thus ensuring that every time someone says your name, they will think “isn’t he the first year that shit all over Raskopf’s victory email?” http://abovethelaw.com/2009/05/quinn-em ... n-victory/ |

Dr. Kenneth Noisewater wrote: Just turned this on. Are they hammering on Chief Illiniwek again? WTF? It's over. Chief people lost. Why are we still yelling at them? I don't really care about the Chief one way or the other. I don't think he was particularly offensive, but he never gave me chills doing that dance either. I get that his garb wasn't authentic to the tribes he supposedly represented and I'm not sure about the dance or if it was something appropriate at football games. Frankly, I'm more offended by baby races. Whatever. But I don't really think bernstein understands the Chief or how he was used. He wasn't a cheerleader. He did his thing. I don't know if any of you Illinois guys ever knew anyone who played the Chief. I sort of knew one guy. He took that shit very seriously. It wasn't a joke. He certainly wasn't a clown. Oskee-wow-wow, motherfucker. Anyway, regarding the larger question of Indian imagery and nicknames, Charles Krauthammer had a good column about it the other day. http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/ ... story.html |

What if we rounded up all the Aboriginal First Nation Native American Indians and relocated them to Canada and/or Australia and/or Detroit? Problem solved. |

Good article. I had no idea gyp was short for gypsy. Didn't even know it was spelled that way. I use that quite frequently. I guess I shouldn't. |
